Whelmed.

It's sh1t or bust for Steve as a Manager really. At least Adkins has got Southampton and Scunny to refer back to, potentially leaving Reading as a mere blip on his CV if he goes on to do well somewhere else.

Steve Clarke is still largely remembered for that last season at WBA, and if he doesn't do it here he'll probably struggle to get a decent Managerial position again.

You're lashing out SPARTA, you were wrong, it's not like you've not been wrong before what with all of your ITK rumours. You backed the wrong perma-tanned horse and it limped into the knackers yard, get over it.

melonhead Whelmed.

As good an appointment as we could get imo.
Glad he's a no nonsense dour type
Glad he will sort this defence out
He's well connected and has good experience for a young manager.
Imagine he'll play a style that suits the players we have
Will be able to assess squad and maybe make the odd change in jan.
Sensible choice imo

howser Oh god here we go, the club do what many on here wanted and sack Adkins, it now looks increasingly likely that Steve Clarke is the new man and he is being slaughtered already. I thought the idea of supporting a club is to see them through thick and thin times, poor sod has only just got the job, probably and he is being slammed by the boo boys already !!!

There just seems to be some of the usual clowns getting upset because he doesn't have a Reading connection, whatever difference that makes, but generally he seems to have support

Oh yeah - they look similar. I thought he was an academy coach or something - but can't find anything on his wiki page - must be my age!

No one's lashing out. A lot of our supporters are very unrealistic of their exspactations.

I had a dream about Steve Clarke last night. He was very cheerful and laughed a lot, and his small bald head made it look like he was a baby.

I'm a bit less positive about this appointment now that I've realised it wasn't real.
