People lording or berating him. Have a word with yourself.

You can only lord or berate him once he's been in charge for a while.

Nothing like judging someone when they've been in the job two minutes.

Duke the Dog2 Jeez, if this is true, is it only me who is stunned by a) the club doing anything for a start b) then doing it all so quickly. It certainly wasn't SJM's way. It would imply they actually have a plan and know what they're doing, which is reassuring, isn't it?

I was convinced no one was around who would make a decision, let alone on that might involve spending money.

I suppose we can hope they spend money in January too?

As for Clarke himself, not sure, I think he should be ok.

Sounds to me like NA may have been a dead man walking since the crap results from a month or two ago. Presuming here that the likes of NH have done some scouting about and some homework on him and his availability and decided to pull the plug as soon as straw broke the camel's back on Saturday.

Oh and, by the way, how well did the last manager with initials of SC do here?

Silver Fox Correctly whelmed, he did a decent enough job at WBA, not like anyone was expecting a massive name where they?

Win % 32.20%

yea stunning lololol, lost almost half his games in charge.

Typical Reading Fan Silver Fox all excited until the facts arrive.

He's a Yes man who's cheap and can't spend what isn't there, ala McD Adkins

if we normalise that for a 38 game season it's about 47 points which would put you in 11th last season

this is WBA we're talking about btw

Whelm stems from a medieval sea farers term "Whelve" which refered to a vessel capsizing.Latterly it became used as a gardening term, to Whelm is to cover delicate plants from Winter frost.
Something going Tits up? Need to shelter your delicate Pansies? A good old fashioned Whelm is just the ticket.

Style of Play ?

The emphasis will be upon Team Shape & Opposition Containment.

He`ll make you hard to break down, his teams {If the Baggies are any yardstick} like to play their way into matches, so nothing to gung ho or exciting from the kick off.

This does tend to hand the incentive to the opposition from the word go who usually have more of the ball as you plug the gaps, so expect to be on the back foot as you begin to get a foot hold in the game with your team looking to counter at every opportunity.

In theory you should grow into the game and get stronger and go on the front foot more as the game develops.

But the basis is always the same, team shape & containing.

Good Luck.

Hmm, just seen this. A certain B McD sprung to mind...

Sounds promising, would still rather have low expectations and be proved wrong though, going by past experience.

Any news yet on his assistants and coaching staff or will he appoint from within perhaps?

As far as I am concerned. I will judge Steve Clarke from 3.00pm onwards from Saturday and the weeks that follow. Commenting on someone I don't know personally is extremely foolish.

But surely you've seen that you're not allowed to count the 1st 9 wins as they were all down to the recently departed Hodgson.

A certain Portuguese chap involved in football management advocates a similar approach, wonder what ever happened to him?
