I'd rather he used Cox, seeing as he's been one of our best performers. The problem is putting out a team that accommodates him without exposing big weaknesses.

One of the first things he needs to do is sort the defence and captaincy - Gunter is the weak link in my view.

Move Obita back to left back, drop Gunter, bring Pearce back in and make him captain, and rotate Hector / Cooper until Ferdinand can play more than 90 seconds. That has to be our strongest back four. Hopefully that will reduce the goal leak and panic.

Cox needs to start each week - HRK just isn't cutting it. Murray needs service but also a bollocking to bring him in line - he cant keep squandering easy chances.

January window / medium term - Pog, Guthrie, HRK, and Drenthe need to be shifted out. Too expensive and not doing the business. Would like to see Drenthe back to be honest - could be a 40 minute menace if we're playing well, and if we're not then his half time keepie uppies look good - but £ are what matter now so he has to go.

Other things are needed but if there is no cash, there is no cash - simples.

Much as i like hector i don't think he makes the best pair with pearce. Pearce has always been better on the right and hectors a little too gungho.

I'd drop gunter, push obita to left back and play pearce plus cooper. I'd look seriously at outting hector in ahead of them and shifting williams forward or dropping him for cox.

I think Gunter's troubles this season have largely been caused by a change in our style of play rather than a loss of form. Let's give him a chance under SC and see what happens.

Rather like HRK, his performances for Wales have made me wonder how we haven't lost him to a mid/lower Prem side. Then I remember that their scouts probably watch Reading matches too.

I'm warming to Clarke already - his open and easy style with the press is a world away from NA's cautious cliche ridden scripts. I had nothing against NA, and love the style of football he was trying to make happen here, but I never really bought into him as an individual.
