Mentioning the two words, Ferdinand and fit in the same sentence is one of the finest examples available in the
English Language of an oxymoron.

You might disagree with his opinion, but there's no need for insults.

You are clearly the "oxymoron". I didn't say he was going to get fit, unless I'm mistaken? I quite clearly said, to anyone that can read, that we don't need a center back PROVIDING he can get fit which is true because we have enough center backs with everyone fit.

If Jure doesn't sign or step up; Stephen Hendrie of Hamilton has been earning good reviews at LB, currently being chased by Palace and a few others.

Perhaps Scott Sinclair on loan (I know  ) and of course a striker maybe in the form of someone like Chris Wood.

We can but hope / dream!

Isn't this board pleasant without the endless drivel about who we might sign we usually get!?

Andy Stevenson ‏@AndyStevenson81 Dec 28
Steve Clarke tells me that @ReadingFC will definitely try to sign Glenn Murray, but that nothing will happen until after FA Cup weekend.

This means Dom Samuel will be in the squad against huddersfield then.

Just seen the last reported Company accounts OMG-no wonder Anton did a runner.

Cannot see anything progressive happening.

I don't know much about him, is he reliable. I only go by what CW says.

Jonny used to print rumours he saw on here, that we put on here to catch him out - so in a word, no.

This is the Chesterfield striker who plays just up the road from possibly Premiership bound Derby County who are also very interested in signing him.

Ideally we'll bring in a centre back, a right back, a winger and a couple of strikers

I think a right back is probably the least of our worries, even if Gunter leaving is more than just idle speculation.

To be fair just the 3 experienced international right backs plus at least one decent youngster does leave us exposed there....

I'm expecting no more than a couple on incoming signings ( maybe 3 if the left back deal is done for nothing)

Central striker and left sided midfielder are the essentials. If we don't get those then money spent elsewhere is wasted.

I assume Ferdinand won't be seen this season, but is on a pay as you play deal.

To what end?

We are not getting promoted or relegated this season, so chucking a load of money at an already large squad which the new manager has not had time to properly assess would be madness.
