Royal_jimmy I want Rochdale away but we will get West Brom at home or Derby away

Please god not Derby - I can see us getting them now.

West brom away wouldn't be too bad but obviously there are far juicier draws

In what possible way can drawing a team we have never even managed to draw against in our history be considered "great"? Why do you want Arsenal? Surely you'd want to progress through the competition as far as you can go? Why say you'd want to draw a club that will 999/1000 beat us? I couldn't think of anything worse!!

Oops, forgot Rochdale.....who would very much be top of the YES PLEASE list. We haven't played them since 1983/84. And there is a lovely chippie opposite the away end.

I kind of agree in some ways, but it'll be a good day on the sauce in London if we draw them away. Home or away to Arsenal is infinitely better to drawing most of the teams in our division. Assuming Millwall and Ipswich win replays, there is an 11 in 31 chance of drawing a team from our own divison, a 35.5% chznce. Lets be honest, given our consistently dire luck in draws it'll be another stinker won't it.....

IN for you driving to Rochdale though, m8

Arsenal away would net Reading £1.5million in gate receipts. It's the most lucrative FA cup tie for 'minnows' like us.

That said I'd rather go through a few rounds against weak opposition before coming up against someone big.

Don't think we'd net that much (45% of receipts would mean that the average ticket price would have to be north of £50 if 60,000 turn up), but it would be a significant amount. Anyway, Chesterfield, Rochdale or Cambridge Utd please, failing that Sheff U, Palace or West Brom for the shant.

Would you sell out though? A half empty away end at Brighton a few weeks back would suggest not.

Agreed. Didn't sell out at Huddersfield either. If we can't sell out for those games, got no chance against teams like Arsenal.

Heard the figure of £3 million ticket revenue for an Emirates game on Five Live yesterday. Obviously 45% of £3m is slightly lower than £1.5m.

It does seem pretty high. That figure's probably for a Cat A game: http://www.arsenal.com/tickets/non-member-ticket-prices

Yep. Especially when the general consensus amongst Reading fans is, smaller clubs are more appealing in the cup these days.

They're by far the biggest and best local team though. That's always a draw.
