Brighton manage to serve decent ales in their ground, so all this talk about it being difficult to do in stadiums is nonsense.

Think we've had this discussion a few years ago. Decent ale can't really be left for a week without anyone drinking it. So, a few casks could be delivered and wired up for inside the stadium on the morning of the game or day before, but they would all have to be drunk for it to be worthwhile.

You wouldn't think it would be beyond the wit of the club to do this if there was enough demand. I mean people simply don't drink keg bitter anymore and lager drinkers are not worth catering for anyway.

I'm not sure how they handle it at Brighton but there is obviously a demand there if you are correct which has been catered for.

I think I've suggested in the past that if there is any of the ale left after the game they could knock it out on the concourses and keep the bars open for a bit until it is gone. Good chance for fans to meet up and have a chat.

It's all about demand for it though.

For years, I endured the keg bitter in the concourse simply because it was the least bad of the terrible options available. On this basis, the club may conclude that I am not demanding better beer.

From what I hear, West Berks ran out of beer very quickly during the trials so there's clearly a pent up demand. Real ale is a booming market it wider society so I'm pretty sure it would be a low risk to provide it permanently.

I heard from someone who is quite senior in the Compass set up. They believe they are doing a great job because the end of season customer satisfaction questionnaires are mainly upbeat and positive. So, the message is that we all need to tell them a few home truths direct to the company, rather than bleating about it on HNA.

I did my best downing 4 pts including 2 at half time, that's 3 more than I've ever drunk at the stadium so my demand is definitely pent up.

I've never had a beer at half time before then.

Great beer + local identity + something distinctive about us + listening to the fans + supporting a local business + making football a better day out = all around win.

I'm honestly delighted for all the above reasons.

I'll be hoping for a pun-based name Reading FC special edition brew. Suspect I'll be disappointed.

Does this "partnership" mean that's it's going to be on a regular basis? That article is vague.

I hope they manage to do it for every home game.

Gr8, more alchies running about the Stadium, shouting abuse at players and the away fans within earshot of families just trying to have a nice Saturday afternoon out.

To be fair that doesn't sound like your average real ale type :)

Worried about the 'abuse' that our fans give? (We are quite a polite fan base) - I'd recommend the West stand.

Maybe when sober. What sort of example are you setting up to the children, won't somebody think of them?
