The point being Cox and Murray were the signings when we let Ugwu go. It's not Ugwu or Blackman / HRK. They were here regardless.

Gilksy
Ian Royal He's scored 1 goal in League One on his debut for crying out loud. Scottish League One can't be any better than non-league. We can't magic away who's contracted to us. You won't find me arguing that Blackman was good or vfm signing. TBH, you won't even find me arguing he's a striker!

Cox & Murray >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Ugwu

But Ugwu >>> Blackman and HRK?

The guy wanted a chance in the first team, and to be fair, he may have deserved a chance at backing up Cox and Murray when you look at how bad the other two are up front.

Blackman and HRK aren't good enough, but they're still streets ahead of Ugwu.

4 for Samuel in a friendly against Crawley today. Enough to get some game time against Milwall? I'd still expect Pog to start, but surely he must at least be on the bench?

I'd expect to see him get some time against Cardiff, Millwall's turning into an ever-more important game

You're probably right. Just (dangerously) see Milwall as a more winnable game.

Tanner out on loan to Wimbledon after signing a new 2.5 year deal. Good move to an ambitious club although I suspect it'll be a real fight for him to get into the team.

You'd hope he's pretty much guaranteed a start, otherwise we'd have sent him somewhere else.

We should at least get some LOLZ from little Tanner partnering Akinfenwa up front.

Lets just hope Akinfenwa doesn't get peckish during a game and eat him.

I was disappointed with Ugwu going (and said so at the time) but on the evidence of last season for both the U21s and his loan at Shrewsbury (?) he seems to get off to a blistering start (think he also scored at least one on debut for Dunfermline) before fading away. Saw him in the U21 game against Man Utd towards the end of last season and tbh was particularly disappointed. 2 in 2 for Yeovil now, but it will be interesting to see if he keeps that up.

Very interesting to see Tanner go out on loan to AFC Wimbledon, and pleased with the new contract. Don’t think it’s a coincidence that more players are going out on loan now since Clarke arrived. I said earlier in the season that I think Adkins policy was to develop at the club rather than sending them out on loan, Clarke seems to have a different view, although that said Tshibola may have gone out on loan anyway with Karacan and Guthrie both fit again. As for Akinfenwa, should never have left Gillingham! He and Cody McDonald had a good partnership there, very good at L2 level I think when McDonald was on loan there initially, big man/little man combo, so it will be interesting to see how the Tanner/Akinfenwa partnership does. Tanner may do very well there, though maybe after a settling in period first.

I think the mix of approaches is good. They were all together and got a taste of going for silverware / winning it last season. The U21s has broken up a bit from then and we had an injury crisis at the start of the season meaning we needed them available for selection.

Now we're less in need, they've got some first team experience, they can't all just play in the U21s, especially without stunting the next wave, so it's the right time to start getting lower league experience.

U18's spank Leicester at their place 3-0. Nova, Husin, and Sheppard with the goals.

Yep by all accounts he had an excellent game. Tish too.

U21's win 4-3 in the absence of those 2 against top of the table Newcastle.

We've had quite a good day here lads 8)

Royal Rother He's 19 and it's Vastsuk.

I think RR's point was that, as he is 19, he does not have a profile as the member of the U18s.

He's still at the club but can't get in the U21 side.
