I don't know where he was actually from, so at least from my POV, that's exactly where he was from

1. Over 90% of the world's yak population of nearly 15 million lives on the Tibetan Plateau in the Himalayas.

Should be a great signing. A player who can finish and who's decent in the air. A proven goalscorer rather than a punt on an unproven youngster is probably what we needed. It is to some extent still a punt but looks a pretty good one.

I knew he left Blackburn to go abroad and when I heard where to (China and then Qatar) I was questioning his ambition slightly. However, he probably always intented to come back to England, which is what I thought. The guy only needs a handful of goals to have 100 in the Premier League. We have certainly never had a player who has scored this many top flight goals before. Lets hope he can get that last handful when he's playing for us at some point.

Not questioning his age at all but you would think he is older than 32 but I think thats only because he's been around for what seems like absolutely ages. I first heard of him the year before he joined Portsmouth because he was playing for Maccabi Haifa against Man Utd in the Champions League (2002-03 season), can't believe it was over 12 years ago.

A good finisher, with good heading ability and strength - sounds like what we need, so I'm cautiously 'in'. Still think though that we're seriously lacking a striker with some pace, so that's a serious issue for us. Plus a pacy LW .... although maybe SC thinks that Travner will be able to play LB and we can push up Obita, but I'm sceptical.

I get trusting the club normally, but how the hell are they going to be a source of authority on the age of a player who could conceivably be lying about his age to them as well?

Maybe he is amazingly still only 32. Maybe even if he's 37 he'll still bring the goods. But it's bloody surprising and suspicious to me that he's supposedly younger than I am.

Well normally to work in this country you have to provide accurate important details such as age. I assume there are some controls in place to make sure people can't lie. Somehow doubt there are similarly strong controls in Egypt which is where this conflict seems to originate from..

But the source would almost certainly be a Nigerian passport or birth certificate. So if he's fiddled that at source, everything else is child's play.

Talk Sport Radio highlighted 3 'Ups' (ie good transfer business) and 3 'Downs' (ie bad transfer business). The Yak was the first of the 'Downs' they mentioned!! But if you listen to Talk Sport you'll know that is probably a good sign!!!
