Maguire So it turns out he's fat and shit.

I hope he's being forced to do sprints all morning, every morning.

He wasn't as fat as I was expecting.

Was certainly shit though.

As a result of his inability to leave the ground (gravity really is powerful stuff!) he got a smack in the face. Rather than use his brain and go down seeking treatment on the pitch (at least the initial assessment) he very sportingly trotted (perhaps an exaggeration) over to the touchline for treatment whilst the game continued without him.

For all the Pog haters - he certainly won't be losing his starting place anytime soon.......

To be fair, I thought he laid on a couple of nice through passes - except they were for Mackie to run on to, so basically wasted.
Hmmm.....so logically, were they bad passes as he should have known they would be wasted?

Had one nice turn and sight of goal, then messed up the shot.

From memory he set up Williams for what was our best chance of that game, and would have made it 1-1.

Harsh to judge a player on 15mins of playing

Not harsh given his complete lack of mobility. We were told he was fully fit and raring to go, which on the basis of last night was clearly a lie.

When you sign a player on a short term deal in the January window, surely you need that player to be able to hit the ground running? Otherwise the season is as good as over before he can make any real impact.

We are told it's a no risk signing yet we are also told we have to watch what we are spending. So is he playing for free. Did he waive any signing on fee? I very much doubt it. I hope he proves me wrong but he very much looks to be another crap bit of January transfer business.

thought he looked ok. tidy on the ball, can hold onto it. looked to put some nice through balls in. missed an easy shot.

decent option for last 20 mins when pogs knackered imo

Really???
I thought he was uttershit. Seriously off the pace, couldn't jump and bottled out of several challenges - even before he got smacked in the face.

Those who think he was 'seriously off the pace' and other negatives are now noted so that I know that their views are to be ignored in future.

I can only think you were on the same scouting trip as Nick Hammond and both were suffering from eye problems at the time.
Dave R was right. I was surprised when I saw him last night. I was surprised at how unfit and immobile he looked. I was also surprised that he couldn't jump and that he missed what, based on his reputation and what we were led to expect, should have been a bread and butter opportunity for him to score - in space and under no real pressure in the centre of the box, he just had to turn and fire home -scuff!

I think he looked alright. But he's not a target man. The only time he touched the ball was when he had a 40 yard pass hoofed in his direction. He's clearly not a target man and if that's how we're going to use him then yes, what a stupid signing.

What's the problem? He got 20 odd minutes, and didn't change a game we were already chasing? If he gives us an option up front (we could with something looking at last night) until the summer, fine. If we release him then, so what? His service wasn't exactly mega last night. He held the ball up a couple of times, laid a decent ball off to Jamie Mackie I think, and jogged about a bit. If you're annoyed we didn't sign Diego Costa, get over it.

Quite early on as well. Probably explains why he was struggling to make an impact. If I had a broken nose, I'd want to go home and drink beer, not carry on playing football.
