Lower ticket prices too.

And what's the highest league where there's still terracing?

Man Friday As someone said, no one's going to say in 50 years "do you remember the year Reading didn't get relegated".

Who's going to remember the FA Cup losers in 50 years time? It wouldn't make my top four Reading achievements since I've been going now, let alone after another 50 seasons.

Why would any of this be of interest to you green?

Just noticed the last game of the season, Derby vs Reading, are we going to get relegated at their ground again? those bastards would love to send us down.

If we don't get to the FA Cup final, we only need to lose one match.

In order to get relegated, we would need to lose many matches.

Let us stay up please.

P!ssed Off Not much point anyone getting too upset over a hypothetical question.
Like a few others have said I just can't see decent form in the cup accompanying worsening form in the league.

So far I'm a bit meh about our cup run. We'll need a few PL scalps in order to achieve proper glory, and not too many scalps left to be had.

If we were to fluke our way to the FA Cup Final through only beating a few average Chump teams, before getting spanked in the Final, then really I wouldn't rank that higher than our glorious consecutive runs to the Qtrs in 09-10 and 10-11.

And yet that's exactly what seems to be happening!

Would take a place in the Semi finals now if it meant that every remaining league game is like last night

The thing about relegation is that we'd have every team playing like Wigan against us, so home games would be utter crap all season.

I voted no, but I'd take relegation in exchange for winning the cup.

Considering how well we play against teams playing like Wigan, we'd be nailed on for relegation again if we did go down.

Relegation and the FA Cup 1600/1

by Snowball » 19 Feb 2015 23:18

You can get 40-1 for Reading to be relegated, 38-1 to win the FA Cup

That's 1,598-1 for the double or 16 GRAND return for a tenner!

I doubt either will happen, but the Judas bet for RFC to go down seems good odds

Where have I heard that before?

In division 1, the cloth cuts you.

40/1 is an insanely good price.

Ian said above that in 50 years time no-one would remember that we were losing finalists in the FAC final. People still 'remember' our losing semi-final appearance in 1927, and the simod cup final. We won the Simod cup in the same year we got relegated, but people still rightly remember the pride we felt for winning it. The same will be true if we are losing FAC finalists. If we get there and win it, that would add an undefinable amount of pride to being a Reading fan.

Big Foot Those of you saying "no" - are you fackin serious?

Why yes????? So we get to a final and lose, and get relegated....what's the point apart from a little money.
Seriously people would rather we got relegated??? Madness......

For me it's win-win

Get the day out (x2) at Wembley, plus a chance of winning one of the world's most illustrious trophies

Would also give us a genuine shot at playing competitive European football, rather than some tinpot friendly against Feyenoord

Plus the added bonus of many, many gr8 days out in League 1

I literally can't understand why anyone would rather stay in the Chumpionship and get knocked out at the 5th Round?

100% agree with this BFer's

Anyone saying League One is better - fair enough that's what you think.

However I can guarantee you that half these people would be the first to start moaning if we were relegated, and all we would hear about is shiiiiit football, how the Championship was better and in fact League One really isn't the golden league you all claim it to be.
