I'm certain I saw Tanner signed a new deal a day or two before going out on loan to AFC Wimbledon?

Andersen, Mikkel - Release, not that young and if he hasn't made it yet I doubt he will.
Chalobah, Nathaniel (loan) N/A
Edwards, Ryan - Keep
Federici, Adam - Offer contract, but will leave anyway
Gunter, Chris - Keep
Guthrie, Danny - Release
Henly, Jon - Keep
Karacan, Jem - Release, too injury prone and will be on good wages
Kelly, Stephen - Release
Keown, Niall - Keep
Mackie, Jamie (loan, option to buy) - Send back to Forest
Pearce, Alex - Keep
Samuel, Dominic - Keep
Sweeney, Pierce - Release
Travner, Jure - Wouldn't really have a clue, no one has seen him play.. Probably keep just so we have back up and is probably on low wages.
Yakubu - Keep on a one year deal if he scores 5+ before the end of season and looks fit.

Interesting that so many are choosing to release Kelly after many people said he should be in the team over Gunter on some of his performances. The guy can actually put a cross in...

Pepe the Horseman I'm sure there's another thread on this, but couldn't find.

According to our friends at The Tilehurst End, there's 11 senior players out of contract at the end of the season. They've only listed six, but won't tell me who the others are, although I know Guthrie is one of them. Who am I missing? Who would you keep/get rid of?

Feds
Kelly
Pearce
Andersen
Gunter
Cummings
Guthrie
Blackman(?)

I'd keep Feds, Pearce, Andersen (will probs want to leave though), Gunter and Cummings from that list.

We sold Cummings mate, so we can't keep him

Judging by what Nigel Howe has just said it will be all the big earners released in the summer.

Regardless of whether the manager wants them here or not.

So that's Guthrie for definite. Hate to say it, but I can see Karacan and Kelly getting moved on. Have a feeling Feds and Gunter will take a bigger contract at another club. Yakubu will also go as well.

He's got another year on his contract so much the same as the last two summers. Him saying he's happy here and would have to take a paycut to leave, so going nowhere.

Release Dom Samuel - 3 goals from 4 games for a lowly League 1 side. Not good enough for Championship football

Should be all change at the club playing wise in the summer. Some in, some out and some surprise wheeling and dealing to be done. As a result I'm hopeful we might at last come out of the summer with something to look forward to and a good foundation to push on from for the first time since SC1 left.

Won't be the finished product next year. Still some dead wood to go, the re-build in it's infancy. I'll be happy with mid table again next year, but looking for something better the year after.

He's done pretty well recently... but you can't be suggesting he's worth his money surely?

You are so easily pleased. He is probably one of the worst Centre Forwards we have ever had.

At Reading we have nearly always had a decent Centre Forward, Robin Friday, Trevor Senior, Kerry Dixon, Jimmy Quinn, Nicky Forster, Dave Kitson, Kevin Doyle, et al
The Russian isn't even fit to clean the boots of Ollie Kearns .

No coincidence in these darker days we haven't got a prolific striker and our goal difference is -10

I would love Pog to prove me wrong, but he like Guthrie are taking money out of our club for very little return.

Please! And your hyperbole is ridiculous. Don't undermine the argument about Pog's effectiveness by coming up with tosh like "worst centre forwards we have ever had" I mean get a grip.

Brayson, Scott, Owusu, Obinna, B Williams, Baseya, Roach, Nogan, M Willams, Asaba, Church...

Those just off the top of my mind from the last 20 years.

Pogrebnyak has been injured for most of the season, and that goal difference is mostly due to our shambolic defensive record under Adkins. Half of it is from the 6-1 defeat.

He isn't a lump, he isn't as good as some of the strikers we've had in recent years. He's still scored 3 goals in about a quarter of a season, which is far from terrible - it's twice what Lloyd Owusu could manage and 84 times what Cedric Baseya has managed in his career to date...
