No, It's similar to how Elm Park was, almost completely enclosed by residential streets.

As we are staying in the Ibis in Shipley on Friday and driving back home after match, would you say it would be easier to leave the car there and train it to and from match from Shipley then driving into Bradford and parking?

Absolutely. There's trains back to Shipley take 7 minutes and are every 15 minutes. From there you can head out up the Leeds Rd in Shipley and skirt around the the City centre.

The roads in Shipley centre get totally snarled up from about 10:30 on a Saturday morning. Costs about £2-£2.50 for a return train to Forster Square which is cheaper than the buses.

Do you think it would be worth driving to a commuter station like Shipley and then getting the train in?

The car park at Shipley is free usually but full up from about 10am. You could go Keighley side of Shipley and park at Cross Flats which is between Bingley and Keighley on the A650. That has a pretty big Car Park but but it's the wrong side of Bradford so you'd probably be better off heading through Keighley towards Halifax to get back South. Alternatively there's New Pudsey Station which is on the Leeds ringroad and has trains to Bradford Interchange. Interchange is a 20 minute walk form the ground.

Great location for picking up prostitutes.

Anyone staying at Bradford Etap? They charge by the hour for rooms.

For future reference, try The Junction about quarter of a mile up the Otley Rd towards Baildon. Decent CAMRA Pub. unfortunately it won't be open for a pre match pint on Saturday.

Well done sir

Oh and where is the nearest patisserie?

Great result having someone "in the know" :) A few people owe you a beer.

What's the Cartwright Hotel like for a pre-match beer ? I believe it's about 3/4 mile from ground. Much appreciated FDTW.

You're staying at the Jury's aren't you?

i tend to drink round Shipley so don't know the town pubs that well but I've been told the independant quarter on New Parade is to be recommended, The Record Cafe, The City Gent, The Sparrow, Al's Dime Bar for your Purple Turtle kind of experience

Round The Jury's is more clubland or chain pubs as it's on the edge of the university area. A bit shit really. There's a few pubs round the town hall which are okish as somewhere to start from.

The New Beehive on Westgate is one that people always tell me is alright but never been there.

Most places are open from 10 but not sure whether that will be different on Saturday with a 12:45 kick off, i do;t know. If you're talking about Friday, pubs will be open all day.

Despairers seems your the local expert how long does it take to walk from Forster Sq station to the ground? Only ever driven to Valley Parade but don't fancy trying to park on Saturday.

5 minutes Out the station, through the retail park car park, across the dual carriageway (thinkQueens Rd rather than an actual dual carriageway) and Midland Rd is 50yds up the bill at the set of lights. You go past the ground on the train as it approaches the station.
