From Despair To Where? Absolutely. There's trains back to Shipley every 15 minutes and from there you can head out up the Leeds Rd and avoid the City centre completely.
The roads in Shipley centre get totally snarled up from about 10:30 on a Saturday morning

Do you think it would be worth driving to a commuter station like Shipley and then getting the train in?

For future reference, try The Junction about quarter of a mile up the Otley Rd towards Baildon. Decent CAMRA Pub. unfortunately it won't be open for a pre match pint on Saturday.

Great result having someone "in the know" A few people owe you a beer.
What's the Cartwright Hotel like for a pre-match beer ? I believe it's about 3/4 mile from ground. Much appreciated FDTW.

6ft Kerplunk Despairers seems your the local expert how long does it take to walk from Forster Sq station to the ground? Only ever driven to Valley Parade but don't fancy trying to park on Saturday.
