No Fixed Abode But your reply is nonsensical.
Doesn't matter where they were at the start of the season. It's as bad as Liverpool fans saying "If the season started in January, we would have won the league".

Not that I am a Rodgers apologist but I think he is trying to say that 4th place for Liverpool this season, considering the bad start they had, would be seen as a positive.
I don't think it would also be unreasonable to also say Liverpool fans at the end of last season would be disappointed in finishing 4th this season.
I'm sorry if that is causing your under-utilised brain some difficulties. I'll try not to post in future.

Royalclapper Roughly translated Rodgers is saying that they've lost pretty much the only top class player they had Suarez - and now he's doing his best to bond together a load of try-hards.

They also lost their second top scorer through injury for quite some time and a 'second season syndrome' after the being the surprise package last year.
Obviously 4th isn't better than 2nd, but taken in context of the changes and how much more difficult it is to replicate success rather than just fluke a season and I can see what Rodgers is on about.

Ouroboros Kes, would Southampton finishing 4th be a bigger achievement than Arsenal finishing 3rd?

So, they lost Suarez, but had pretty much all the same players from last season. Pretty poor show if you rely on 1 player so much. The injury to Sturridge, these things happen. You can't use that as an excuse.

No Fixed Abode And Liverpool didn't spend millions?
Other teams have to cope with European football and have that expectation of finishing in the top 4.

Of course Liverpool spent a lot yes, but not as much as United, and they were trying to replace their best player and enhance the squad for Europe.
I'm sure they also expected, and still do, to get into the top 4. That doesn't' t mean it's not an achievement though does it?

Hoop Blah Depends on your point of view I guess.

Nope. There are no hard and fast rules as to what is a 'better achievement', that is a purely subjective thing.
