while id prefer to have a stadium full of braying standing yoof and often wonder why some people even bother going to football, you have to say they are entitled to enjoy the game they have paid for in the manner in which they prefer.

safe standing puts the braying standing yoof in one place, and allows the dullards to enjoy the game without having to recieve mouthfuls of abuse from nobheads for daring to ask them to sit down.

dullards are people too you know

Do you have to be a yoof to stand asks an old woman who enjoyed standing all match at Bradford

bobby1413 Was the band last night hired?

They've certainly upgraded the drums section and were very polished

At first i thought it a bit over the top but in the end they were almost worth the entrance fee alone and I especially liked the fanfare at the substitutions

And the comedy sound effect when Fedders slipped over...

Agreed, please let the band continue with the occasional sound effects during games.

Couldn't go Tuesday due to work but my daughter went and thought the band played the Rocky theme when there was some handbags stuff with Hector / GMac which sounded pretty funny.

I always preferred standing.

Probably would get back-ache if I stood these days but would happily do so.

But what I HATE is stand up, sit down, stand up.

Just do one or the other PLEASE

Thoroughly enjoyed this via our friends at BBC Radio Sussex down here. It took an age for them to confirm our goalscorers as they were moaning about the pitiful defending!
A couple of colleagues who were listening picked up on the band and were none too impressed

Ian Royal
bobby1413 What the hell is it with Sweet Caroline.

At our peak back in the special 106 season it didn't catch on then or at least didn't stick around.

It felt last night that it was so forced. I think I heard it 5 times and didn't really hear many scream out the chorus

If they're aiming for a Sheffield Wednesday or Wolves type of thing they're a long way off.

Was the band last night hired?

+1

And it took me 10 minutes to work out what the long running song was. Still not sure I got it all / right... Jamie Mackie's having a party? To anyone not trying really hard who didn't already know it, most of the time it must have just sounded like yurner maher ahna ahrty

I did like 'Nick Blackman is a football genius.' Both supportive and sarcastic.

See Watfordroyals answer just above yours

Jamie Mackies having a party
Bring some vodka and some Charlie

However it came about (and whatever it refers to) it was brilliant
Very rare that Reading sing more than one verse of anything.
Can't remember such a sustained performance for a very long time

Oh and no problems standing the whole game in y26

I thought there was another line.

Excellent chant, but a lot of work required on diction and enunciation.

What Dave actually means is he managed to work out for himself that we won 2-1, despite his occasional lapses into the alternate dimension that he thinks is reality, probably because

a) he saw it on the big telly thing in the corner of the ground
b) he saw it on the little telly thing in the corner of his front room
