Anyway - enough of this hilarity. I understand how you've come up with your findings and I fundamentally don't agree with it.

It's a shame you don't try to be a bit more even handed rather than shouting down anyone who doesn't agree with your methods.

Thank you very much Blackburn

I've never actually really looked at the top half of the table, having just done so  how close - normally by this stage you have 1 or 2 certs for promotion but any of the top 8 can still win it

Goal Difference will be key this year - I can see the league being won with just 81 or 82 points.

It's a very average league this year, top 8 clubs are of a similar strength and then the rest are evenly matched to. The fact that we've been almost universally rubbish this year but are currenly only 5 points off a top 10 finish shows how average it is this year.

On the plus side really does show that anyone can beat anyone in this division.

Err, Basically Bradford are going to win the Champions League because they have a 100% record playing away to teams who have played in that competition.

Don't get me wrong, I can see Snowball's point that wins in any competition create confidence and momentum but I can also see everyone else's point that many teams approach Cup games differently to the League so you cannot draw like for like comparisons.

Anyway's Snowball's central point is that we are 99% safe from relegation because we are 13 points clear with 10 to play and, discounting Blackpool who are already goners, there are a hell of a lot of relegation 6 pointers still to be played (maybe 15-20? I've not counted) and we are only involved in 1 of them so everyone else will be taking points off each other.

Reading are now 50/1 and 66/1 to be relegated. 104/1 on Betfair.

You can get 9/1 for Fulham, 12/1 for Brighton, the current bottom 3 are firm favourites for the drop

Reading, Rotherham, Brighton averaging 1.4 ppg over the last 10 League Games, so no "free-fall"

Fulham, though are two-three defeats away from being very worried indeed!

A lot of six-pointers left but just two involving Reading.
That means that the others are all going to take points off each other

10 Games Left - 14 Points - 4 wins last 10 now on 44 Points Reading
10 Games Left - 11 Points - 3 wins last 10 now on 42 Points Huddersfield
10 Games Left - 08 Points - 2 wins last 10 now on 41 Points Bolton
10 Games Left - 14 Points - 4 wins last 10 now on 40 Points Rotherham
10 Games Left - 14 Points - 4 wins last 10 now on 40 Points Brighton
10 Games Left - 08 Points - 2 wins last 10 now on 39 Points Fulham

The average points for the team finishing 22nd in the 21 years since reorganisation is 47.3 so 48 points would usually be enough, although it has been as low as 41 or as high as 55. i reckon we are about there given we still have 10 games left.

3 points off Bradford on Monday would be useful.

You can still get 66-1 for Reading to be relegated.

22,780 return for the Cup-Relegation Double

You can get 66-1 for Reading v Bradford for the FA Cup Final, and 33-1 for Reading to win it.

That is £1,526,260 return for a ten-pound bet*

Actually it's a £0 return for a £10 bet.

If you mean

1. We are not going to be relegated

2. We won't win the FA Cup

I agree with the first and think the second is extremely unlikely.

That's hardly the point.

A nice Judas bet on RFC going down would soften the blow a bit if we did.

Think we may still be in trouble. Should have sent the full side out today as we are only 3pts ahead of Rotherham and 9 ahead of an ever improving Wigan taking the goal difference into consideration. We aren't going to beat Arsenal so its all for a day out at Wembley where we get thoroughly turned over. Done that too often before
