BFTG - Bradford City

by PieEater » 16 Mar 2015 22:39

We'll that was a performance. we went that them right at the start and never looked likely to lose. Hard to fault anyone, they all played pretty well.

Great atmosphere and a pitch invasion, my 3rd.

WTF was the Sweet Caroline goal music about - a total fooking embarrassment. Stop it now!

I feel a bit sorry for the Bradford fans having a 4hr/200 mile trek home - their side tried hard but never really had a chance.

Agreed on the Sweet Caroline music. If they want that to be an anthem it needs to be played as the teams come out and at the end of the game.

Not often you can say this but we totally and utterly dominated from start to finish.

One game too many for Bradford.

Great beer and a pretty decent live band before the game got things off to a great start for me.

Most nerves calmed by a great first goal. Second goal put us firmly in charge. A good spell from Bradford before half time, but they never really looked dangerous. Second half, all Reading. I seem to be the only person who thinks the ref got it right and it was a straight red - high, dangerous, studs showing - you're off , mate.

Chalobah will have great future ahead of him base don that performance. I thought he was good at Bradford - like a blood and guts game suited him. Tonight he was composed, played the simple accurate passes well. read the game and played with a real elegance and sophistication. Could be world class.

I love Jamie Mackie and have done since his debut. Hope he managed to make the birth of his latest kid.

Great night. I may have sung along with Sweet Caroline at some stage, I think I was quite elated.

And for some reason, I now have some hope for the semis.

Sweet Caroline much less of a shambles tonight.
Sitting in Y19 was an eye opener. The drummer stifles the atmosphere something chronic. Barely anything starts without him, there's nothing original or interesting that can get going and the instant he stops so does everything. Y25 / 26, despite all the teeny wannabe Lads is just so much better.
Saying that the atmosphere was better than its been in years, with some quiet patches.

As for the game... 8.5 all round and 10 for Mackie, he just runs and runs and hes in a rich vein of form. We were great. Sat back a bit for the last 15 of the first half, but understandable. We were quality all over the pitch.. bit more like that in the league please.. Pog looked desperate to score and frustrated it didn't happen for him.
Bring on the Arsenal.

just to add, i took Starliasions advice and took an early bus from the centre to the ground. It took me 50 minutes - shambles - and I arrived as they were kicking off. What's the point of them having traffic control if it takes so long?

There were streams of people arriving for the first 15mins. Some banter with the pissed up Bradford fans on the bus, the driver let a couple off for a piss - and waited.

Definitely a red. Did a kung fu kick on him without looking at the ball ... no argument.

I sit in the North Stand and, for periods, that felt like the loudest in terms of the whole stadium it has been since... Wigan in that semi final. .. or was that just my memory of that penalty?.....

Yes there were gimmicks, but hey, it worked...

Just seen the replay and I agree. It looked harsh at the time - we are all thinking it was a yellow, but the replay showed a kung fu kick straight into Chabolah and nowhere near the ball.

I called red instantly... just went straight into him.

Atmosphere was good and I thought the Reading fans were fairly decent, but nothing compared to Bradford, great fans even though they were away.

I'll support pretty much any fan tomfoolery you can think of, including pitch invasions and smoke bombs, but the cunt who threw the smoke bomb into the Bradford end from the pitch is a prick. It's that kind of shit killing pyrotechnics in Europe. I hope he was pissed up because he's going to need all kinds of mitigating factors to get away with that episode of idiocy.

On tv you could see the ref reaching for his yellow card at first, but changed his mind, and rightly so, and flashed the red...

I thought it was harsh at first until I saw the replay.

Everything I hoped it would be.

Great atmosphere, early goals to settle the nerves, and what was subsequently a relatively easy ride made for a very memorable evening. Chalobah was phenomenal and the whole team played well. Memories fit to lock away for the future!

Amazing - brilliant performance from the boys. Shame so many missed our first two goals - the blokes next to me arrived 40 mins in after a 30 minute run because the traffic was so bad

Cracking performance. Great tempo from the start.

Brilliant atmosphere. Some of the music/announcement attempts worked better than others. Some were cringe-worthy. Main atmosphere was fans & play on the pitch feeding off each other.

Why on earth did the police line up in front of the away fans? Yet naff all of anything to stop Reading school kids from invading. Another sh#t pitch invasion  Deprived Reading & Bradford fans of a chance to applaud both sets of players. If it was the other way round we'd be fuming.

I'm normally first to shout for an opponent to be sent off but I thought their bloke had his eye on the ball. Yes, his boot was high but I thought red was very harsh. Haven't seen a replay of it so maybe I'm wrong.

I go to football to watch football

I don't want to see xfactor bands outside the ground
I don't want to hear random trumpets/drums throughout the game
I don't want to hear shit music played when we score
I don't want to hear shit music 'anthems' being played when the players/ref are lined up ready to play, and the stupid cunt in control of the PA still hasn't shut the oxf*rd music off
And I certainly don't want to hear oxf*rd air raid sirens when the players come out

It's a oxf*rd football match not a oxf*rd music concert

Great performance and night!

Shame about the fair weather fans (school kids) on the pitch at the end.
