John Madejski's Wallet Screw ruining the best part of the season for the fans, in the most depressing part of the year, just because our top 4 teams are sh*t.

I think that's an over-exaggeration saying they're sh1t. I think it's been fairly evident that our English sides have looked fairly tired in this round of UCL games. PSG's games get moved forward 24 hours to a Friday night ahead of a UCL game. It's certainly something we should also consider.

No Fixed Abode Despite Arsenal finishing 2nd in their group and get one of the easier draws in the round of 16, they fell at the same hurdle as they have done in previous years.
City tonight - I can't see them going through either. Perhaps it's really time to have a winter break as with the other top European Leagues.

How tired and in need of a winter break were english teams in the mid to late 00's?

In the last 10 years we have had 3 CL winners and multiple other finalist and semi finalists (didnt we have 3 semi finalist one year in the last decade?) where the other big leagues had a winter break and we didnt, But now this season we have no teams in the QF it is definitely the lack of winter break causing it?
There doesnt always have to be finger pointing and excuse making when things dont go your way in sport.

But in 2012, the year you got so upset about the FA making you play your cup semi on the Sunday, you won the Champions League

Ark Royal Serious question: How long will it take consistent failures at this level of the competition before England's UEFA co-efficient is low enough for only three teams to qualify from the Premier League?
