blueroyals I love the guy, but is it really any wonder why he's unemployed? Quit Bristol because, in his words, his heart wasn't in management anymore. Then took years out of the game. Then re-invented himself as DoF in the lower leagues. Not much success there. Ended up working for free. And now saying he's not 'actively pursuing' a managers job. I can't see many clubs taking a gamble.

Managed to get us to spend money on Hope Akpan...

I thought he'd lost his passion and drive and that's why he wasn't managing. It certainly seemed that way for a while and I thought he'd said so. But if he's got that back then he's worth a go for any club (without a controlling owner) and I'd have him back here in a flash (despite being dead against him when his name has come up previously because I thought he'd lost the drive). Even if he did badly, his achievements here were so great he'd still be a legend afterwards.

That wouldn't have suited anyone, given Giggs was playing for Manchester United at the time and Coppell wanted a break from football.
