P!ssed Off Why do you think Murray would be signing a clause that says if Reading bid x, Palace must accept?
That part of the arrangement does not concern Murray.

Clearly right from the start neither E-P nor Ian Royal had much idea what was going on, even now they're still not sure.

The clause wasn't meaningless nor was it a game changer. The club may well have portrayed it as more important than it was:

Frankly for either E-P or Ian Royal to be banging on about how they were right all along is laughable.

Erm, I'm not. And I've said the same as you, you mental.

Sorry..

Extended-Phenotype But Wimbledon could make an offer at the end of Tanner's loan. We might accept. We might not.

So it would be no different to an option to buy deal, by your definition.

We had presumably agreed a fee with Palace, and if we offered X, they had to let us speak to Murray.

Contrastingly, Wimbledon could offer us £50m and Akinfenwa and we'd have no obligation to say yes if Fleetwood gave us a better offer, like £45m.

Angry Shed Sex My youngest made a Glenn Murray book mark and bangle for me for Christmas.

It must have taken ages. She cried when I told her he's gone back to Palace.

This is the most genuinely emotional thing I have read on Hobnob since the epic thread dedicated to those who introduced us to RFC yet never made it to see us in the Prem.

Why was he so shit for us? Perhaps shit isn't quite the right word, but he never looked like scoring many, and didn't lead the line with much energy or muscle. We haven't lost anything since Pog replaced him, yet he gets rave reviews every time that Palace are on the tv.

They keep making quite big thing of the injury he was coming back from. That, and that he is playing in a team with unbelievable desire under Pardew, an infectious attitude we've been missing for a long, long time.

Murray wasn't shit for us. He did start off brighter and fade a little towards the end of his time though.

I'd say that was symptomatic of the way things were going around the club and the team though. People seem to forget that it's a team game and these guys are human beings and not just robots you can drop into one team from another and expect the same level of performance and the same outcome.

His scoring record for us (8 in 18) wasn't actually that bad either, just not as good as the short impact he's had under a Palace team that Pardew has got flying at the moment (9 wins in 14 I believe it is, 7 of their 10 wins in the league since he took over).

He wasn't good enough to be missed when he left though.

So we haven't lost anything since Pog replaced him, sadly I think we have. Pog has improved leaps & bounds under Clarke, but that still doesn't make him a good player, just like HRK he so over-rated and seems to turn it on when it suits him, the Cardiff game being another example we should have had a hatful(well at least another 2 goals) but we didn't push on and were left with just a point

I find it stunning that some don't rate Murray's time at Reading.

First, 8 goals and an assist in 1,526 minutes. A goal every 192 minutes.

VERY solid, especially as he took his eye off the ball after Xmas

Second, he ran the front line with vision.

Pog, by comparison is a far weaker player. Poor in the air (tho' good at holding up when the ball is to his feet) and hasn't been a real goal-scorer for much of the last decade. He's playing as well as ever, maybe his best and even this purple patch he's scoring a goal every 235 minutes. His overall Reading history is a goal every 4+ appearances.

I said at when Murray arrived that he would improve over time. I'd suggest his heart went out of RFC once he knew he was going back to Palace, and now he's scoring at a goal every 91 minutes of play, currently the best in the Premier League

+1

It simply beggars belief that anyone would describe a short loan period containing 8 goals as "shit"

Others moaned about him only giving 80%.....................................WTF did some of you expect from a Premiership striker sent here to regain fitness/form following serious injury :|

POG is doing OK but Murray is clearly the better all round player
