There's keeping/winning the ball and then there is doing something it. Not a fan of Williams (he's decent enough) but personally feel he has a bit more to his game, even if it isn't totally clicking yet.

Tbh I wasn't really on about a head to head anyway.

Well worth a one-year deal, but I wouldn't want to see us commit beyond that until we know he can last a season and is over these long-term injuries.

69 Appearances, one-and-a-half season's worth.

How long to settle in and click?

Dunno. Unsure if its his fault I.e. ability, or the injuries to him, the team, the shit going on backstage, the managers changing etc.

Just have a hunch he could be a solid player in a better, more stable team. Then I guess that could be true of many.

Once again though, as much as you want this to be, this wasn't really about Williams.

It's "Appreciation for Jem Karacan" and, IMO, Jem, for RFC is a better player than Williams, on all counts and in toto.

And, it IS "about Williams" if it's sell one or let one go.

They'd make a good pairing, actually

Why does appreciation for one player always have to turn into criticism of another?

Williams >>>>> Karacan.

Karacan spends the entirety of the game playing with his back to the opposition goal. Williams is equally able to break up opposition attacks and play a simple square or backward pass, but in Williams you also have someone with the ability to drive forward with the ball and contribute directly to what little attacking threat we possess.

Two apperances, one yellow card. Still only 26 so I guess he may still break through there. Would love to have him back, but i don't know who he'd replace in centre mid - Danny Williams and Oliver Norwood seem to have that covered.

Wrong move for him I'm afraid - too much competition for places in the team ...

Maybe he should have gone to Plan B - Swindon maybe?

That was his debut (I think). Typical Jem, winning tackles and retaining the ball. He's also on the receiving end of a poor challenge from an opponent, although at least not against Leeds.
