Pepe the Horseman
windermere_royal well located the torch on google earth, but when i go to street level theres no sign of it, just shops, 2 minute walk north of wembley park station

You have to go through one of the shops to get to it.

I'm guessing that this is a whoosh but the last time I looked it is still exactly the same shytehole (The Wembley equivalent of The Bradford Arms) in exactly the same position at the end of a parade of shops. Come out of the main exit of Wembley Park Tube, turn left up Bridge Road, continue until just before the T junction at the top and it is on the right.

Compo's Hat
mr_number Most likely to be these if they stick with the normal split by end:

The Torch, 1 - 5 Bridge Road, Wembley, HA9 9AB
Crock of Gold, 23 Bridge Road, Wembley, HA9 9AB
Moore Spice, WembleyRetailPark, Unit 2, Engineers Way, HA9 0EH
Watkins Folly, 1 Empire Way, Wembley, HA9 0EW
Blue Check Café, 12 - 13 Empire Way, Wembley, HA9 0RQ
Alisan Bar/Metropolis, The Junction, WembleyRetailPark, Engineers Way, HA9 0EG
Crystal Club (Silverspoon), South Way, Wembley
The Parish, 120 Wembley Park Drive, Wembley, HA9 8HP
First Class Sports Bar, 125 Wembley Park Drive, HA9 8HG
The Wembley Tavern, 121 Wembley Park Drive, HA9 8HG
Flyers Last Stand (Cheers Bar), 45 Blackbird Hill, NW9 8RS

Looking at all the pubs on streetview the one that looks most like The Green Man is The Torch, none of the others even have a beer garden so can see them getting quite cramped.

I went in the Sports Bar before the ACDC gig a few years ago and it had a huge garden with decking and a marquee on the other side of the alleyway at the back. Looking at Streetview now, it seems to have gone. Does anyone know if its still there and streetview is just too old to show it?

Any truth in the pubs around 'Wemberlee' closing 2/3 hours before kick off to get fans into the stadium ? At the playoff final we just drank cans from the supermarket 'al fresco'

Just ask yourself that same question.

90,000 fans coming to town and you think pubs will close early...?

Why would any landlord do that?

I also went to the Sports Bar last year before a Dream Theater gig, I don't remember any garden. Was an okay pub, good for pre-gig drinking as it blasts out music from the acts playing that night (interestingly, the locals were confused at listening to intricate prog metal while trying to socialise...). There are probably better pubs to go to, I'd imagine.

When I went there the area in the first photo was completely different. Decked out completely with a marques in the middle, tills, beer pumps etc. Didn't even have to go in the pub to get a pint.

I didn't even see that. There was a fat ginger bloke near us who took his shirt off though. You should've come in mate. Was only £1.50 a beer from across the road.

We did go in, they checked us said we couldn't drink our own - saw the queue for the beer so left and went to Crock of Gold down the road....
