Russian friend of mine watched a (Russian) football show yesterday where they interviewed Pav on the phone. Summary in bullet form:

- held his hands up regarding missed chances, said that after we equalised he really thought we were going to win in normal time

- Federici waited for everyone to leave the changing rooms before going in to shower after the game

- wouldn't comment on his plans for the summer/next season

He won't move on cause he's on such a good package here and nobody else would be stupid enough to pay that for one of the most over-rated players we've ever signed

Yep agree with both and although we paid fees to sign, weren't paying such ridiculous wages and this is the sticking point

'We made every effort to meet his standards. We tried to show that he could get somewhere with us. In the end he got exasperated with us. For example, in a seven-a-side exercise to retain the ball, he made it clear he didn't think we were up to the job.

I appreciate Clarke’s sincerity – he always tells it how it is. Somehow we managed to lose 0:2 and he said "Lads, are you still questioning your position in the table? The table doesn't lie, and you deserve to be where you are."

As it happened, teacups were flying around the dressing room that day.

Hoping he can really pull up some trees for this coming season. A decent footballer who is dogged by a high salary and therefore (probably rightly) perceived as poor value for money. With a side more moulded to what SC wants to do perhaps we'll see more contribution and more of what he can do.

Good to know that SC doesn't pull his punches on the training ground as well....

Don't know what to make of those quotes really. Shows Clarke has a pretty low opinion of (some of) the players and one could take Pog's words to mean that Clarke gave up on them. Which, IMO, ain't gr8 coaching.

Agreed, but his goals return says it all. He has been a huge disappointment.

I think this interview supports Clarke's previous comments on that he needed to move on a few players and shake things up, clearly they were lacking the winning mentality the Clarke was trying to instil in them.

Really interesting interview, shame we never read any like that over here. I actually like Pog and think he can play a big part in the team, but he gets a criticised hugely due to his high wages and poor goal to games ratio, and rightly so.
