Ian Royal 5 league goals at home under Clarke? That is offensively bad.

Yesterday just about summed up most of our season(Wigan & Leeds at home apart, when we were really bad)-played some nice football at times; a bit shaky at the back, very poor set plays & crucially absolutely zilch goal threat.

Feds 6: Couldn't see what happened on the 2nd, some great saves, maybe could have done better on the 1st ?
Gunter 5: Saved us once in the 1st half-poor crosses.
Obita 5: Better going forward , but weak defensively.
Hector 8: Some absolute top class moments , mixed with some absolute naive defending; sort out the basics first-before showing how good you are. Probably a Prem club will come calling.£10 mill please.

Pierce 5 : Usual. Strong rumour that he has found his new deal disappointing & that he is on his way.
Norwood 7: Thought he was back close to his best-played too deep though.
Williams 7: Pretty good-but can't pick a pass. Provides real drive.
Chalaboah 5: Lost interest; on his way back-would love him back on loan again(along with Ake).

Macca 6: Summed up his season really-some good moments-but generally not enough.
Mackie 6: Tried-just wasn't his day.
Kanu 1: Absolutely nothing-waste of space & talent.

Cox 4: What does he offer-should have done better with his chances yesterday.
Stacey 3: Don't like to have a go at a young lad starting out; but should have done better with his opportunity.
Blackman 1: See Kanu.

Youngish Ref-who clearly wasn't up to it-the League has to do better.

SC: This is a ruthless business & we are clearly going to be in trouble next season ; short of a major re structuring.Should have used yesterday to give some of the younger players; Kuhl/Cooper etc a chance-sod being fair to the Play Off contenders-we lost comfortably anyway.

bobby1413 Clarke has his work cut out. So pissed off when they announced 4 minutes extra time, just wanted the game to end it was so bad an painful.

Like others said before, absolutely zero goal scorers.

At times in many games I've watched, particularly the SC era, reading look really decent putting a play together.

They then try to cross it, and it just goes to opposition, or they try to walk it into the goal, or a weak shot.

Set plays are truly terrible.

The season ending next weak is great. We are safe, we just need to re build and SC to re structure. I have faith he can do it

Well I don't share your faith. So he motivated the players to grab a chance to appear at Wembley and then play well there! Is that really that difficult? They were bound to give their all once there , as they were in the shop window.

He has proved beyond doubt that he doesn't know how to motivate those same players in normal league games, which is the one thing that really matters,. In fact, when it comes to the league, he has failed even more than Adkins.

Rebuild and restructure? Apart from the players he got via his mates at Chelsea, his dealings in the transfer market were a joke. He blew whatever funds/opportunities he had on Travner, Yakubu, Appiah and Knight! He then appears to realise they are far worse than those he already has and, even when not injured, they don't get selected.

And what the hell is behind his reluctance to play two up front?! Why does he let other teams dictate our lineup and tactics?

He has masterminded the worst sequence of home performances I can remember witnessing and yes, I was around for Burns and BullIvant!

Seems you couldn't see what happened on the first either! I don't think any keeper would have stopped that one, unless they were 6 foot six, fifty five stone and stood in the wrong position!

Two out of three for Feds then.... close to good enough.

Well Parkinson couldn't appear to do it for Bradford.

He's got an awful lot awfully wrong over the past few years! Gooding is concerned that the Mad one has persuaded the Thais that the Reading (Madejski) Way still works and Gooding is convinced it is very much a thing of the past. Even Ady Williams appears to be coming around to that way of thinking.

Funniest bit about yesterday was when the announced the attendance. "20,048"

Clearly 4000 ST holders had other ideas. Not that anyone could blame them.

Should have taken a pic from the West, but I would estimate 40% of the East Stand was empty seats. Paid up customers not turning up as it was almost every other seat not taken rather than empty areas.

Westwood52 Youngish Ref-who clearly wasn't up to it-the League has to do better.

Don't agree with that, I can't remember him any real mistakes and the did well with the obvious time wasting by various Brentford players while they were waiting for their right back to change his boots. I especially liked how he then refused to let the player back on until the whole passage of play had completed even though there were a couple of times when he could've.

agree - thought he was generally one of the better refs we've had this season. No real glaring errors. A few decisions which he may have given differently but we've had far worse on most occasions this year. Remember Martin Atkinson at Wembley anyone?

I hope the club get fined for continuing to play oxf*rd sweet caroline after the game has started, they did it in both halves. It's an embarrassment.

I keep getting annoyed by it, they should do the first bit that fans join in with and cut it, at the start of the match it did the "Sweet Caroline, doo, doo, doo" bit and that's where I would have cut it but they kept it going when the ref was clearly about to start the match, then they just have to cut it abruptly when the match starts and it sounds a bit stupid.

Hoss Oh and as for Sweet (F ucking jesus) Caroline. Stop it, stop it now!

6 defeats and 2 draws in last 9 home games
"good times never seemed so good"

I'm only listening over the internet (obv) I'd much rather they get rid of that bloody air raid siren, that must be massively annoying in the ground.

Kept bringing back memories of WW2 for me and kept hiding under my seat

Last game for me after 30 years as a ST holder - knew I hadn't missed much in not going hardly at all this season.

The players were all playing last week for a chance to play at Wembley and get themselves in shop window for next season. They don't play for Reading FC as such. Players, like Hector and Cox do appear to have some passion for the club.

Under Coppell and McD I always, got the feeling the player's were a strong unit and playing for the Club and their manager - since McD left, I've not got that impression. I don't know what the problem is, but I'd pay McD whatever it takes to get him back here. Even if we end up selling most of the first team and using our rising stars, from the Academy like Stacey etc.

They could have offered season tickets for £50 and I wouldn't have renewed and I never ever thought I'd say that. I've lost any connection I felt with the players and club previously, even in the old 4th division I enjoyed going and we always at least gave it a go - now we have overpaid prima donnas who just appear to turn up and go through the motions every week.

JakeTheRoyal Hate battering Pearce because he loves the club but the first goal was all his fault, just watched as the man crossed the ball. Wouldn't be too suprised if he doesnt get a new contract.

Bollocks. The first goal was all down to Hector - just let Judge wander past him when it was pretty easy to, at a minimum, challenge for the ball.

Just a predictably awful game following an all-too-familiar pattern; lots of tidy but completely ineffective possession, with so little off the ball movement. Countless balls played either behind or just underneath our runners, over hit crosses and multiple touches required before anyone's prepared to have a shot.

The game was made even worse for me by falling off the motorbike on the A33 just before the Mad Stad on the way to the game. A heartfelt thanks to all those who came to my assistance and to whoever it was that called for a paramedic. I was and am fine, just have a very sore left leg and chin. Capped a miserable week for me and the bike after dropping it putting it in the garage after the semi final. Perhaps someone is trying to tell me something...

Pure bollocks yet again.

Who the hell would you keep in this squad? Having missed 1 game all season I'd only care to see a few (regular only) in a Reading shirt again.

Definitely:
Feds
Ake
Chalobah
Obita
Williams
Karacan
Pog
Cooper

Maybe:

Hector
Cox
Mackie

Honestly I could not give a shit if we saw none of the other players again. Blackman, Pearce, Gunter, McCleary, Akpan, Norwood, Knight, Yakubu and especially those useless oxf*rd Kanu and Appiah all oxf*rd off in the summer would not bother me at all.

Positive is there is only two shit games left to put up with this season.

Oh and Brentford's fans are oxf*rd shit.

Except we are failing whilst employing a transfer and contract strategy that is about as far removed from the Reading way as it's possible to be.

AthleticoSpizz As far as 0-2 defeats go, that was one of the better ones.

We had more than enough chances to win that game, but a totally relaxed and enjoyable defeat, good luck to Brentford who with Grey and Jota, I hope make the Premiershit cut

Cut?

Probably the most embarrassing post of 2015.

I don't know if you saw any games from McDs managerial stint with us but he does not like youth players. He got lucky with Sigurdsson as Rodgers had already integrated him into the team so it was just a case of adjusting his position.

He will find any golden oldie with experience and play them every week. Look at the treatment A Mac got, dropped for experience if I recall McD saying. It also took him 4 or 5 shite performances from Feds (pretty sure it was nearly one after another) before he dropped him to give him a chance in the Prem.

Christ, if we took him back we would probably give Zat Knight and Anton Ferdinand a 4 year deal.
Not to mention the relentless hoofing and one dimensional tactics.
