Clarke leaving after Saturday?

by Colbster » 28 Apr 2015 09:58

Heard a rumour at the U21s last night that Clarke will walk away from Reading after Saturdays game. Could possibly explain the slow decisions on contracts for Jem and Fedders.....

Why would he be at the U21 game if we was going to walk away? :|

Can't see that happening. He knew what he was getting into when he joined. If anything, he'll be looking forward to making the changes he needs to make, and getting stuck into pre-season.

Anything with Reading FC is possible as players will be leaving, SC will be considering his options.
The club is beached at the moment following an owner who sought to release funds on investment made, an owner whose dubious funds never appeared and current owners whose additional investment has yet to be seen, but have made it clear they view Reading FC as an investment and endorse FFP.

Adkins and Clarke have failed to motivate the current squad, who have only shown their full potential in the FA Cup. A clear out of "favourites" and others out of contract would seem logical to try and form a new motivated squad , as it is unlikely that others with longer contracts will attract potential buyers and so remain at Reading FC.

I really hope he does

Rubbish manager who doesn't have a clue what his style of football is. We haven't seen any improvement since he joined (please don't say the FA Cup - that was an easy run)

I disagree, while the results in the league seem to have dropped, I've certainly seen a lot better play by the team just with pretty much 0 end product. If he can get someone in who can actually stick it in the back of the net we might have a successful season.

Oh and work on the bloody set plays too, I don't even bother getting excited when we get a corner or free kick anymore as it's inevitably either going to the keeper or not beating the first man.

Do you think we are playing better football now to this time last season?

His contacts are better considering we can get in decent Chelsea youngsters. He's inherited a shite squad. Judge him coming up to the Jan transfer window i say.

No, but I think we're playing better than around the time Adkins got sacked.

The same squad that finished 7th last season, bar 2 players....

He had the whole of January to sign players - and didn't get a decent striker in that we needed

Adkins knew what he was getting into when he joined. It turned out that at best he hadn't been told the full truth and at worst he had been deliberately misled. Maybe Clarke has found out that he too won't get the financial backing he had been led to expect.
