Did anyone stay for the lap of appreciation?

i didn't stay mainly for reasons that have already been said.

I stayed at Wembley as i thought they deserved it for the days performance and the cup run as a whole.

I didn't stay for the league as the team have been abject all season, played boring negative football and haven't learnt from their mistakes. How a team that can finish 7th last season, can finish 20th is beyond me having only lost Le Fondre and Morrison from their first team regulars. I don't want them to applaud me for watching that drivel, that is my choice. I would rather they showed me their appreciation by refunding my travel and ticket for Birmingham or Nottingham Forest away!

Why did they go back into the dressing room and keep us waiting for what seemed about 10 minutes? Did they think they were Coldplay who had just played a great gig and we were demanding an encore? No wonder so many left they just got feed up of waiting.

Last season's first team: McCarthy; Gunter, Pearce, Morrison, Obita; McCleary, Guthrie, Williams, McAnuff; Le Fondre, Pogrebnyak. Could make a case for Drenthe but he was ultimately a fringe figure.

Five of those have left the club and two of them had serious injury problems this season.

But I agree, we should have been a lot better this season. McAnuff was the big victim of Vibrac, with a credible left winger supporting Obita we'd have looked much more dangerous.

I had no intention of staying, but somehow couldn't tear myself away - I couldn't believe the crass decision to award PoTS after the final home game of a season in which our home performances have been so poor, and I wanted to see how many people decided to stay on. I'd guess it was around 4,000 - whoever said the East Stand was half full must have a had a skinful! The 10 minute wait for the players to return from the dressing room was ill-judged as well. Presumably, Steve Clark wanted to thank them all for their efforts, wish them a good weekend and tell them how much he was looking forward to Rotherham on Tuesday. As commented already, Federci was walking well behind his team mates.

Actually a pretty decent number stayed, and made a good amount of noise. No booing, no nastiness. Plenty of appreciation for Feds and Mackie.
Can't blame those who didn't stay and understand the reasons.
Didn't think the POTS being given after the game was a good move.
Shame the positive support shown at Wembley lasted no longer than a week though.

I stayed but was as much to see the body language of the team as anything else. They all looked totally pissed off. To a man. There was a real sense of feeling that this was a good bye from many and those that didn't look like they were going to leave looked even more pissed off than those who we know are out of contract.

Its going to be a long summer and I hope we come out of it with a team that can hold it's own next season.

I stayed as I (incorrectly) assumed the car park would still be closed and I would just be sitting in my car waiting for everyone else. I also took it as the players wanting to show their appreciation. I therefore applauded the PotS and let them wander round and applaud the fans, without joining in myself.

It was obvious that they knew how disappointed the fans were judging by the low number that stayed behind.

There is no one in the squad that I would be too upset about leaving. We can only guess about salaries and offers being made, but if anyone thinks they can do better elsewhere, well good luck to them.

Well, we have plenty of midfielders (Williams, Kuhl, Akpan, Norwood, Tshibola - with Clarke likely to want to bring in at least one of his own) and he's barely played in two years. Hard to see how he justifies a good wage. £3.5 - £5k seems low, but we're still in financial difficulty.

Although I'm not sure how allegedly overhearing a passing snide comment suddenly gives insight into the amount of wage offered.

for this season they didn't deserve much. but in other seasons they achieved great things, & many of those players will never play for usagain, and for that they deserved a few loud noises created by me moving my hands together at speed

No great surpise but it looked to me like Feds (walking separately from his team mates) was waving goodbye.* Deserved a clap for his years of sterling service. It will be an odd feeling to have someone new in goal next season.

How did Pearce feel about his contract offer?

We still have 2 games to play - why would Mr Mad say see you next season? Total and utter bollox and doubt Jem would reveal what he has been offered anyway.

Cooper has got close to a dozen appearances.
Hector has become first choice
Kuhl and Stacey have both featured multiple times and started at least one game.
Keown, Tanner, Long and Novakovich have all had cameos.

Not sure McAnuff would have made any difference; LO fans certainly got frustrated with him very quickly. He was one who had to go, but another not replaced that needed to be.
