I'm no great fan of Dellor but he was perfectly right to question Clarke's ability to turn things around next season. You appoint a new manager in the expectation that he can at least start to improve things in a reasonable time. Clarke has failed to do that and has produced an absolutely dire sequence of results since his appointment. Has any other newly appointed manager produced such a long run of poor league results and survived in his job?

The more points a team accumulates in a season, the higher up the league said team finishes. A side scoring more goals than it concedes, on a regular basis, generally results in more points accumulated. Goalscorers score goals, which helps a side accumulate points as noted above.
