Royality creeps In I have been saying Pog is shite for months, however some of the muppets on this board begged to differ.

Apparently he works hard

I don't think there is a person on the board who thinks that Pogrebnyak is anything but a massively expensive non-scoring disappointment who cannot jump.

He does try really hard though, and when your team is as shit as ours has been this year, that is something to treasure him for.

Also, Glen Murray wasn't that much better, and he gets on Match of the Day all the time now.

I love Pog!

There are people on here who genuinely believe he's our best player and somebody we should keep in the summer. Unbelievable.

Not a striker?? I always thought he was a striker. Played most of his games alongside Robin Friday from what I can remember.

I wonder how many goals we've scored with Pog in the side vs. how many we've scored without him in the side?

On a really high simplistic level just compare adkins recrd this season with Clarke's. Its much more without him then.

The creativity point is a red herring. Murray got loads of chances in the same team. Pog just doesn't get himself in the right places partly because he's too busy lumbering about deep or wide without the pace to then get in the box.

Can you teach an old dog new tricks, or to put it another way is the manager able to coach Pog to improve his game / get in the right positions to receive the ball and improve the number of chances he gets as a result?

If we can't sell him it might be worth the manager spending time to try and improve on his faults, even if he isn't first choice.

Not a Pog fan, but a compliant against him was why does he end up on the wing and try and cross the ball to the penalty area that is devoid of Reading FC players. Could be that until the end of the season there was no one going down the wing to get a cross in, and Pog tried to generate some pressure on the opposition. Hopefully during the summer SC will address this issue with the existing squad, as I can't see the squad changing much, and in many ways what is needed is introduction of a style that utilizes existing strengths and players have more confidence and desire than we saw last season.

Geekins Les Ferdinand?
1 goal but only played about 20 games.

Nick Blackman 78 apps, 7 goals..... 11.14, However he has mostly been played as a winger.

If nobody wants him then the only other option is to put him in the reserves and tell him he'll never play another game again to get him to find another club like Drenthe did. He's too expensive.

Assuming funds are available to sign another striker, Otherwise the Pog may be our best option
Instructing/training him on how to play the Steve Clarke way as effectively as possible would help, although I don't imagine this hasn't already been tried, which suggests maybe you can't teach an old dog new tricks.

Yeah that makes sense, pay him shed loads to play nothing games in front of no-one in a team that doesn't exist.

The obvious answer is to kill him and make it look like an accident to claim on the insurance.

Free up wages and actually make money.
