I told them that at 9.03 AM this morning-Boro won 3-2 so are 6 ahead with 1 to play-Royals 2 to play
GD Boro +13 Royals +10

The way i interpreted that was Andrija needs a rest after a demanding season.

Hard to see Nova being a first team regular next season to be honest. And has this season been that demanding for him ?
But it also seems a big ask for young players to travel round the world for big tournaments then come straight back and do full preseason into games. He will also rob ably have the Olympics next year so this looks like a sensible step to avoid him playing non stop for 3 seasons having no rest period.

So what was the result? I can't find it anywhere?

I went to the u18 game this morning. They played well first half but run out of ideas in the second. Sunderland scored a goal early on (their no 9 Andrew Nelson scored and was the best player on the pitch). Our centre backs stood off him and he had too much time to shoot. Southwoood had little chance of stopping it in goal.

We then created a few chances in the first half and were the better team, but couldn't score. Noor Husin, playing CM was the outstanding player in the first half for us. He has a great first touch, good close dribbling skills and constantly looked for forward passes to cut through their defence. Sam Smith looked dangerous as the loan striker and Jake Shepherd was really good on the right wing.

In the second half, Sunderland exerted their physical authority on the game. They looked bigger and stronger throughout. We made a tactical change midway through the second half and it didn't work. Tennai Watson (who was having a good game) came off at RB, pushing Shepherd back into his position and young Jordi Osei-Tutu came on, but struggled to make an impact. Noor Husin who was excellent first half, struggled in the second - giving the ball away frequently, trying too hard to make the hero pass all of the time. Our best players second half were Sam Smith up front (who is strong, fast, good in the air and has a bit of vision about him) and young Omar Richards at left back, who is quick, skillful and can pick out a pass. Zak Jules came on at CB (I think he is coming back from injury) and looked rusty, but he is an absolute beast physically.
I don't like to give marks out of ten to u18 players, but I would give positive reviews to Tennai Watson, Omar Richards, Jake Shepherd, Sam Smith and Noor Husin. Danny Williams was lively up front when he came on at the end. The others showed some decent touches, but the second half was a little disappointing.

If I had to judge, he walked off the pitch, I'd suspect his expression was more of being distraught at his first start being cut short.

He's having an op today to pin the broken ankle. Will be up and about in a month and playing again 2 months after that.

they will have scored fewer goals.

If we did only win 1-0 twice and Boro lost 3-4 then Boro would've scored more goals
