Koa Bosco wins promotion through the plays off from Italian Div 9 to Div 8.

The team is made up of African migrants who live in tents and shipping containers in a govt run camp.

Schalke have sacked Kevin-Prince Boateng and Sidney Sam after they lost against Koln. Seems a bit ott.

Big last day in the Bundesliga next weekend. No-one currently relegated, only four points between last and 14th and 4 of the bottom 5 play each other.

Paderborn (18) v Stuttgart (16)
Hannover (15) v Freiburg (14)

Hamburg attempted to avoid their first ever relegation start in the relegation zone and face Schalke at home. A win may not be enough if Hannover/Freiburg draw and Stuttgart win.

Winston Smith As it stands the Premier League is on course to drop a place down to 3rd in the UEFA coefficients ranking with the Bundesliga moving up into 2nd.

Could change depending on how the respective leagues perform in europe for the rest of this season but right now the Bundesliga is ahead of the PL.

top 3 teams in the UEFA coefficients ranking get 4 Champions League places.

As it stands, Serie A are in 4th place and are quite a long way behind 3rd, but if english teams had a 'mare in Europe next season and Italian teams happened to do well then things could get interesting

Juve getting to the CL final and a number of Serie A teams doing well in the Europa League means they will earn at least 5.4 points more than the PL and with 2010/11 points dropping off they are right up behind us now. If italian teams do better than PL teams next season then the PL will be down to 3 CL spots

Gilortul Targu-Carbuneşti, a side in the Romanian fourth tier, were forced to play 40km away in Stoina because the local mayor had rented their pitch, erected a marquee and rolled out a red carpet across the turf in order to host his daughter’s wedding reception, something local reports described as “probably the biggest party that has ever been held in the town”.

on 1st Feb when Dortmund were bottom Winston Smith no decent forwards left, loads of injuries, silly mistakes in defence. plus the bottom half of the table is really close, couple of wins and you are midtable. not that unrealistic that someone currently in the relegation zone ends up qualifying for the europa league

Dortmund win 3-2, grab 7th place and qualify for the Europa League.

16 year old Martin Odegaard made his Real Madrid debut yesterday, and played well.

After staying up in away goals last year, Hamburg continue their record of being the only team to have played in every Bundesliga season. Equalising in the 92nd minute, they've just won 2-1 aet to win 3-2 on aggregate against Karlsruhe. Only a last min penalty save stopped it being by away goals again this year.

It took an injury time goal tonight to stop TSV 1860 slipping into the third division in their play-off game. 0-1 down after a 0-0 away leg, with 12 minutes left, they equalised before the 91st minute winner in front of 57000.

Nice 11 hour ride home on the train for Holstein Kiel's travelling fans too.

Elche demoted from Spanish top division due to unpaid tax. Eibar regain their top division status.

A few shocks in the 1st round of the German Cup, biggest one being Hamburg losing 3-2 to Carl Zeiss Jena, who despite being one of the big clubs in the East German League now play in the Regional Leagues. This is the German equivalent of a Conference side beating a Premier League side.

Cracking game it was too. Even though you could barely see Dortmund's second due to all the smoke from the flares being let off by the Odd fans at half-time.

Hope so, even if just to see what will happen to the stupid clock they have in their stadium.
