I'm a Nuremberg fan and obviously I'd love Kiyotake but there's more chance of signing Mata tbh. He is fantastic though.....

Jose Baxter?

Showed willingness to go and get games under his belt. Looks like he is capable of scoring and providing. Oldham aren't in the best financial position, so I doubt he would cost the earth.

Troy Deeney and Jose Baxter are both great shouts. I dont think we have any young players ready to fill that position, maybe Lawson D'Ath or Jake Taylor but it seems to be a bit late for them.

Clean slate under Adkins though so who knows.

Tanner, and possibly Urbancic (who's been spanking them in for the U16's by all accounts), will be the long term options from the youth.

Personally I think, unless an obvious target comes along, that McAnuff/HRK will be playing the role next season. Baxter is a decent shout, and I know we've looked at Harry Forrester in the past but if Brentford come up I doubt they'll be selling.

Would be a very good time to buy Baxter given his age and the likelihood is if there was a place for him Adkins would get the very best out of his potential.

What about Jed wallace from Portsmouth? Up and coming player did very well in the back half of this season and has been linked with a few PL sides. Lives very close to Reading too according to a friend of a friend.

First of all, he's out of contract, so nought to do with whether they'll sell or not. Second, coming from someone who's seen 20+ Brentford games this season...we don't want him. As I have highlighted on other threads.

Hunt out, Ebanks-Blake in please! Told he can leave Wolves after he told them he didn't want to play in League 1.

Clean slate under Adkins though so who knows.

D'Ath is more of a central midfielder, he's good going forward though (as evidenced by his goals) so could play an important role supporting the striker in a 4-5-1 and would probably do alright as a #10. Taylor's probably best behind the striker, but I'm not sure he's going to be good enough.

As a quick comparison on ages, D'Ath is in the same "year group" as Akpan, Taylor is even older. It's not too late for either of them to make it, may have made it much later, but it is about time they started getting first team football, particularly Taylor.

Speaking of Akpan, I think he'd do better in a more advanced position. It would stop his style being such of an issue. Besides, I think he's unlikely to replace Guthrie, Karacan, Carrico and Leigertwood any time soon.

Jed Wallace today signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers for a fee of £275,000. Another HobNob favoured possible signing, Jamie Ward seems to be Forest bound.

I thought Mr Clarke was reported to want to get his business done early. Although I suppose the players mentioned here were all ones favoured during the Adkins regime.

Another player mentioned on this thread, Jose Baxter, seems to have gone off the rails a bit. So he'll only be going to the Job Centre I suppose.

+1 . Couldn't care less about him doing a bit of cocaine, assuming he's not dumb enough to do it again.

We should sign Craig Tanner from Reading. Or Liam Kelly, from Reading. Or Josh Barrett, from Reading.

SCIAG We should sign Craig Tanner from Reading. Or Liam Kelly, from Reading. Or Josh Barrett, from Reading.

And for the No. 9 position have we considered Harry Cardwell of Reading, Dominic Samuel of Reading or that American lad from Reading - Novakovich...
