I'd imagine loads of international squads have had more than 5 players from one club. Liverpool, Man Td and Arsenal have regularly had that many, Liverpool once had 7 starters in an England side. In years gone by Celtic and Rangers would have had 5 or more in most Scotland squads I suspect and I bet Italy would have often had 5 from one club.
Still nice though.

And can you blame Hector for choosing 4 or 5 expenses paid trips to the Caribean every year for the next decade.....

Yes, it's remarkably common. I think Royal Ginger was probably talking specifically about Reading players though.

What about recent Ireland squads? I think we had two Hunts, Doyle and Long in a few, throw in Stephen Kelly and Darren O'Dea and you're home (I'm not sure O'Dea was ever in the same squad as Noel Hunt but if he were...)

Royal Ginger Hector's call up to Jamaica makes five current and former Royals in the squad.

Hector
McLeary
Mariappa
Cummings
McAnuff

Has there ever been an international squad with more in to anyone's knowledge?

Yeah and Royal Ginger was including current and former Royals, so Ireland probably has had more than 5 of those at any one time.

I thought about Ireland too, but most of our Irish internationals past and present were strikers, I'm not sure we'd have had enough all together in the same squad at the same time especially as Robbie Keane has been an ever-present hogging a space.

There were a few Ireland friendlies pre 2014 WC where Doyle, Long, Cox, Pearce and Kelly were all in the matchday squad.

I thought Pearce had only been called up twice, all of which well after Doyle had fallen from grace?

his fall from grace was far less dramatic on the international stage unfortunately..

I forgot Cox was pretending to be Irish...

If Trappotoni hadn't ignored Harte then we would have made it to six. No O'Dea in those squads?

Reads like Norwood had a decent game for NI v Qatar today

Were we getting the best of him last season?

Should be a key part of our desires next season

We were close to it up until Adkins left. Then he fell apart, though we saw a couple of glimpses.

His performances in the last few games were pretty good. I think he's a lot like Guthrie in some ways, he's got the skill and can pick an excellent pass but only if the flow of the game suits him and the opposition haven't targeted him as the lynch pin.

Looks like Danny Williams scored one against Netherlands today.

Danny has to calm down, he keeps performing well someone might actually bid for him, considering our financial position we might be tempted to accept.

Don't worry it was changed to an "own goal".

But he keeps on playing like this and he'll make the US squad for this summer's Gold Cup and get to feast on some fairly weak CONCACAF opponents.

Video

The US was trailing 3-1 when Danny came on at the 60th minute and ended up winning the game 4-3. Danny's goal was the tying goal in the 88th minute. Klinsmann seemed fairly happy with what happened after Danny's introduction. :D

why is it he has never looked like doing that for Reading? Another HRK and Chris Gunter? Needs better players around him to perform at his best perhaps?

That's exactly the sort of player he looked capable of being last season but missing the first 2 months of this really set him back.

Except he has looked like doing that on several occasions for Reading but injuries have disrupted his progress.

How on earth was that credited as an OG? It was a deflected shot but not an OG.
