They might teach him to head the ball rather than just pushing the striker ...

I don't like Pearce, but you're wrong there. He's good at heading.

If Pearce is having a good game no-one notices him because he's simple and effective. If you look back at the player ratings we've given him in BFTG threads i'd be surprised if we didn't find that he regularly featured as the 2nd or 3rd best player on the pitch. Sure he's had a couple of crap games, but i can't see any way we'd be able to replace him with similar or better quality.

Gets on with it. Makes mistakes but mostly effective. A leader on the pitch. Not the sort of player we should be losing at this point in time.

Only experienced CB we have (like Ferdinand will participate). Already need a left back, maybe a right back, at least one striker and a left winger. We really don't need to be searching for a quality and experienced CB too.

If he goes to Derby I'll be bloody glad I didn't renew my ST - any news on Karacan? Is he going to agree new contract? We need 2 center backs - one to replace Pearce, one as cover for hector and new CB as I can't see Anton playing many if any games. At least two keepers, at least one more striker, 2 midfielders - any thoughts of promotion next season look like pie in the sky to me

Plastic, you can't make a comment now you haven't renewed your season ticket.

Although Clarke has bravely* said we'll be nowhere near relegation next season. Which has a touch of the Mark Hughes at QPR about it. Except Hughes had a better and longer record in management before that job.

*Naively and very foolishly

Should be announced tomorrow I.e. Pearce, not heard anything on Karacan.

Rebuild continuing. Exciting times.

Dismantling continuing - we'd need to sign someone for a rebuild to begin.

Wouldn't class it as dismantling, that implies we're actively getting rid of Feds and Pearce. When the fact of the matter is they were offered contracts and chose to turn them down and leave against the clubs wishes.

Fair comment. Erosion?

Erosion works, I'd go with deterioration.

Bizarrely we have a weaker squad with them leaving but I'm not overly fussed that they've gone...

I'd be much more concerned if it was Hector leaving.

There are lots of good youngsters ready to stake a claim, so let's be positive and call it rotation for the time being! :D

Not expecting a promotion challenge, expectation is to be able to manage a top 10/top half finish.

Club, of course, should be aiming to win the league.
