Rea Ding paddy20 Renewing your season ticket and the performance of your team should not be connected. If you are a fan then its irrelevant. I'm the first to moan but I will always get my ticket. The performance just determines whether you are miserable or not.
Well said.
I used to agree, but I think there comes a point in life when you have many competing priorities and spending ~£400 a year to lose 1/4 to 1/2 your weekend every other week to a hobby that's only going to make you miserable becomes somewhat unattractive.
I don't think people particularly mind a terrible season, but the prospect of witnessing the steady decline of their beloved club over 3-5 years can be something that can prompt you to give up for a while and spare some of the pain.
Throwing your toys because of one bad season or a return to normal service from a particular high point is of course entirely different.
