Hector signs new deal

by winchester_royal » 01 Jun 2015 12:20

I know Pepe's got there first on the Summer Rebuild thread, but I think this piece of hugely positive news deserves a thread of its own given the tidal wave of negative ones started recently.

Much more important getting this sorted than keeping either Feds or Pearce.

Bigger signing than than Feds, Pearce or Karacan for me. Some real intent at last.

Here here. Hopefully we should get a nice wedge for him in Jan now.

Best signing of the summer. Now watch us sell him next summer for £6m to fill the black hole. It's the Reading Way after all.

Nice - means we can command more of a fee for him

Considering all the negativity of recent time, this is great news.

Well we can't get both .... can we ?!?!?!

Haha but clearly the reasoning behind the "signing".

Good news. Ensures we get a decent fee in January 2016 when we sell him.

This at least means that he'll be under contract if we need to sell him so we might get some money for him.

So what wages do you think he's been bumped up to? I would speculate we're gunning for 10k wages to first team players and he might have been on 5k before the contract offer.

Don't think anyone has mentioned this yet, but the best bit is that if we sell him we'll get decent money for him.

Apparently there's a minimum fee release clause in his contract meaning we'll get a pretty penny when he moves on in January

Can't say I'm a big fan of Hector but at least the club are showing some intent.

At last some unambiguously positive news. Shame it's more security to talent we have rather than the new talent we desperately need, but early days and I'm definitely happy about this.

Interested as to why you're not a fan of his? Comfortable on the ball, good passer, had a blinder against Arsenal. Pretty much everything Pearce isn't, and he'll get better and better.

Interesting to see how he gets on as a leader at the back if Pearce leaves and uts him and Cooper
