Im a Rangers fan myself mate, Reading adopted team as I moved here 10 years ago. I rated Vuckic highly when he played for Rangers. He has a great left foot and good work rate but he is very slow. He has been to he is 'free to leave' Newcastle which doesnt mean he is a free agent. It means they are very open to offers for him to allow him to leave. Rangers are looking to get him back full time depending on what the asking price is.

Surely things aren't that bad that we cant compete with a club with such terrible financial history as Rangers. we should atleast try to sign someone like this who is young and can pick a pass. with him and Norwood in a line up we would be pinging the ball round all over the place.

Well this may well be the level of signing we are looking at actually, either youth players from prem who didn't quite make it, or players from lower leagues such as fodderingham. if you think we are going to be signing the top talent in the championship or really bright sparks from the prem I think you are very deluded. im not saying we will sign Vuckic just that this the players at the level we would be looking at.

I'm not. I'm saying that if Rangers sign him instead of us, it's because we weren't trying to sign him. Not because things are so desperate that we can't compete with them.

I don't know too much about him but remember when he had a little run in the Newcastle team a few years ago and seemed to do well.

Probably nothing in it though and if the only team we're competing with is Rangers, that's enough to put me off.

sorry my apologies it was the way it came across, as a foot note the Slovenia manager has just said that if he signs for rangers he will not be picked as the league is not of a high enough calibre
