philM If there really were £50M worth of RFC shares put up as collateral in the scam, then that would be about 100% of the club.

That would also suggest that all of the shareholders who allowed their shares to be used in that way were partially involved in the scam.

GPT Football Investment and GPT UK Investment Ltd certainly have links back to B.I.G.

I guess we have to hope that Narin Niruttinanon isn't implicated at any stage.

As you say if it's 50m they are all in on it unless they were promised unknowingly on their behalf or when he was proposing to buy the club on his own. (as someone has mentioned as his initial intention)

The BIG link is tentative but a possible explanation is that BIG were the initial investors but when Samit withdrew Narin took up the option and just changed the company name rather than set up a new company or use his existing 25% company to increase his allocation that way.

multisync1830 A double box for Sassima was made so she could have her own space away from the others. So what?

It was my understanding it was to cater for the large Thai entourage visibly seen at matches rather than clogging up the director's box.

cool but it's her private box with her name on the door. The Directors lounge can easily handle 50 people

So the best case scenario is that our entire worth was used as fake collateral. I'm not exactly reassured. Here we go again.....

I think the accusation is that fake share Certs were used as collateral.
If they weren't used by anyone connected with the club then it's not really an issue for the club.
Like Rolex aren't in trouble if back street traders well fake watches with their name on.

We're all in the same boat here, wildly speculating on sketchy reports of alleged goings on published by people who we have no way of judging their credibility. And most of us are using that to back up our own preconceptions.

I think you underestimate her to the point of offensive. I read that interview as SJM's over eagerness rather than her lack of acumen. She is a very powerful figure in Thailand with many successful businesses to her name. Obviously RFC wasn't on her radar until the development potential was shown to her but she is warming to the club I feel. Thai business people are quite shy generally and often stay in the background. A double box for Sassima was made so she could have her own space away from the others. So what?

I know qualifications don;t mean shit these days but isn't she also a graduate of Harvard Business School? That would imply at least a rudimentary understanding of business.

Not a clue who Fordham is and what his/her "sources" are but given two rumours attributed to him/her in this one and about Pog going to the Ukraine his "sources" seem very speculative and not based on a realistic assessment, such as why Pog would go to a nation suffering with civil war. worse conditions and weather.

Is Jonny Fordham http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/jonny-fordham-dream-reading-fc-4189982 or someone else using the avatar to gain more status?

I haven't seen anything about fake share certificates, and the use of the actual certificates isn't the usual way things are done when shares are put forward as collateral for a loan.

In most cases, stock shares are not held as certificates. Instead the shares are in electronic form, referred to as "book entry" in brokerage jargon. To assign your book entry shares, the lender will provide transfer directions. Usually two forms need to be filled in, the loan pledge agreement and the stock assignment form are used to have the shares transferred out of your brokerage account and into the lender's, where the shares will be held until you pay off the loan.

That may not have happened in this case, but it's the usual way things get done. It's similar to a mortgage provider having a charge on your house.

Seems this thread is running here and on Summer Build, repeating the same story.

RFC is owned by three people according to http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/thai-consortium-buys-reading-football-club-1466760

The consortium, led by businesswoman Khunying Sasima Srivikorn, 25% holding, first announced an interest in buying the Royals in July.

Srivikorn is co-chairman with Madejski. The rest of the club was purchased by Khun Narin Niruttinanon who acquired 50% and Khun Sumrith Thanakarnjanasuth, who bought the remaining 25%.

No sign of Samrit.

So why did Sasima say on BBC Radio Berkshire (Andrew Peach show) the day before the FA Cup semi-final that there was 4 people involved, before the interview suddenly cut off?

i'll post this ere aswell

this is very well and good but i guess what i wan't to know and probably many others do too, what is the best and worst case here.

Best case, Reading FC are not implicated we carry on all is good

Worst case? What if our worst fears come true and somehow B.I.G is linked to us and Reading FC is implicated, what then? What happens to the supposed £50m of shares that has supposedly been put down as collateral?

How are the football league going to take this, fines, docked points, expulsion?

Also, doesn't the guy that owns half of us (Niruttinanon) and his family have shares in Thai Union, the lot that took over at Sheffield Wednesday? Looks like Chansiris and Niruttinanons are close eh?
