Ginger Ninjas Good player, excellent last night, but has now got to start doing it a) regularly and b) against good sides. It's all well and good scoring wondergoals against Norwich, WBA and Slovenia, but have yet to see anything much against Chelsea/United/City, in big CL games or at an international competition.
To be fair to him, if he's picked up the MoM award for 6 of the last 7 games he's played for England, then that's pretty consistent!
Being facetious aside, I'd agree he needs a good couple of seasons of playing week-in, week-out and putting in such performances against the top sides as part of that before he's really proved himself as the player I think we all want him to be.
We do need to be careful not to expect too much from him though. Even quality players like Silva, Iniesta and Xavi have quiet games or spells where they don't run games. We have to allow our players the same off games.
