Ouagadougou I don't know, I just don't think such logic always applies in the running of football clubs, let alone Reading. I can't see what's in it for him otherwise, anyway. Why cut short your contract at a Europa League club for the Championship if it's not a pay rise you're after? He looks to me like the sort of flash player who'd expect it.

Almost definitely getting a pay rise. Very few leagues around the world pay much money which is why so many players want to play in the Premier League or the Championship. I once saw that Michu was earning 2k per week in Spain before he moved to Swansea. Bradley Wright-Philips is earning $300,000 per year, Nigel Reo-Coker $400,000 per year in the MLS. If Sa gets 10k per week (which I think might be on the high side given the intentions of balancing the books as much as possible), i'd expect it to be a major pay rise, yet still cheaper than many of our current (and recent) first (and reserve) team players.
