New Kit Sponsors 2015 / 2016

by JamesWN » 22 Jun 2015 17:31

Thailand-based drinks company will sponsor home shirt for 2015-16

Reading Football Club are delighted to announce a brand new sponsorship deal with Carabao, a Thailand-based drinks company who specialise in energy and isotonic drinks.

Carabao is a well-established and successful drinks company, which currently operates almost exclusively in Asia.

As part of the partnership with the club, Carabao’s name will appear on the new 2015-16 home kit. The sponsorship package will support Carabao’s ambitions to launch their range of products in the UK and help develop their brand across Europe.

Mr. Sathien Sethasit, Chairman of the Board, Carabao Group Public Company Limited said: “Thailand is the country where energy drinks originated and Carabao is the fastest growing brand of energy drink there. As well as being determined to become the market leader in Thailand and neighbouring countries, we have always hoped to introduce ourselves to the UK and EU markets.

"We are delighted to become a strategic sponsor of Reading Football Club. With our products and brand strength, together with Reading’s ambitious management team, we believe this will be a hugely successful partnership. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Reading Football Club’s fans for all the support from this point onwards."

Adam Benson, Head of Commercial Sales at Reading Football Club, said: “We are delighted that a brand of Carabao’s stature have agreed to become our new home shirt sponsor. We’re looking forward to working closely with them in the months and years ahead."

The introduction of Carabao to a UK audience will initially be based around the company’s energy drink and a lighter pre-sports drink.

Carabao are also planning to launch further products, with some aimed at a younger market, but until the range has been developed the club and Carabao have mutually agreed that Reading’s youth team home shirt and junior replica kit for retail will not include the Carabao branding.

As part of a unique agreement for the club, Reading FC will have a separate sponsor for the away shirt and further details will be announced shortly.

Waitrose, the club’s main shirt sponsors for the last seven seasons, are set to continue as a valued partner of the club, with discussions regarding a significant new deal at an advanced stage.

Seems like we'll be having a different sponsor on the Home Kit, as opposed to the Away Kit.

If I was a betting man, I'd say the stadium might be called Waitrose Stadium soon.

Not bad news. Only more money in the coffers with three key sponsors on board now. I don't think anyone would be moaning if it was Monster or Redbull. People don't like change, embrace it!

Now just for a switch of kit supplier £££

No chance. Derby signed a £7m 10 year deal. Waitrose wont pay anything like that, but Thai Airways might..

“Carabao” is an energy drink that was inspired by the fighting spirit of an individual. It is more than a global energy drink, it is the empowerment to accomplish personal goals.

Carabao symbolizes the spirit of individuals who fight for the cause they believe in. Not by force, but with determination, hence the slogan: “ The Fighting Spirit of Carabao”

Around the world, energy drinks have become popular with the young, trendy urban population. By positioning these drinks as trendy and fashionable, many companies have forgotten the original purpose of an energy drink. Many of these so called energy drinks have now become soft drinks. Carabao believes that energy drinks were created with a purpose: to provide replenishment for lost energy.

In Thailand, home of the world's leading energy drinks, this type of beverage was made to provide replenishment for lost energy. Carabao adheres to these basic principles and has therefore positioned itself as an energy drink for those who need replenishment.

Carabao's position is based on the philosophy of its founding partner, Mr. Aed Carabao. Aed Carabao is a popular folk singer in Thailand who the vast majority of Thais regard as “The voice of the people"

The outspoken Aed Carabao, who Carabao Energy Drink is named after, started his movement in 1976 by creating emotionally gripping songs titled "Songs for Life“. Fame and popularity have not undermined the singer's grassroots spirit. Understanding the hearts of his fellow men, Aed Carabao is always there to sing and speak up for the people.

The Carabao logo is unique amongst energy drink brands as it was designed by Aed Carabao himself. It represents the physical and emotional strength of people who possess the fighting sprit. The stylized image of a buffalo skull, with the red bird that represents freedom, can be seen everywhere in Thailand.

TBM

I hate the logo, obviously, it's fecking hideous; but even as a brand, that logo is shoddy! Horrible design, badly put together and the font is just makes it feel cheap.
