Gate receipts will be less than £5k per home game, so it's pretty significant.

tidus_mi2 I know the women's game is on a much smaller scale than the men's game, in that case what does 40-80k get you financially? Obviously it seems like a pittance when compared to fees in men's football but how far does 40-80k go in the women's game?

Much more than a BJ i'd hope!

Is that record fee for us or record fee for the woman's game?

Seems like she feels she owes the club a lot so I think she'll stay and finish the job this season.

When does the women's season finish then? Will we be in the top league if we go up?

Hope she stays until the end of the season! - I'll be off to Farnborough on Saturday although I'll be somewhat surprised to see her play.

Actually, we've only accepted the offer. Apologies, Fran. Unless you do sign for them.

Ian Royal Is that record fee for us or record fee for the woman's game?

Well, I don't believe we've ever had a female player under contract before, so it's definitely a record for us...

Can't actually find any information about all-time fees except worthless speculation on sub-HNA forums, but I think £80k would indeed be a British transfer record.

Had hoped that she and the club would agree to see this season out together and then take stock of the situation.

Failing that, it would have been nice if she could have been sold to Chelsea but loaned back to us for the rest of the season (not sure whether WSL rules permit that).

Bitterly disappointed to see her go but, at the same time, thank her for all of the great performances and goals and wish her well.

Fortunately the Reading Women's team still have sufficient talent and goals in them to see them promoted to WSL1 this season.

And still completely unacceptable of the rich arrogant barstewards at Chelsea announcing to the media that they were confident of signing her when she was away at the World Cup and still very much one of our players.

Is there not a chance she'll tell them to shove it? Or do we think it's pretty much a done deal?

If all the RFC Ladies supporters gathered together for a car park protest do we think they could convince Frank to stay :?:

As the club have agreed a deal, I suspect it is pretty much a done deal. I suspect she may have been worked on a bit whilst she was away with the WSL1 stars at the World Cup. A shame when there was a very good chance that she could have been one of them with Reading next season.

No matter what she feels she owes the club, there is no doubt that her earnings and profile are likely to immediately significantly increase if she joins Chelsea. It won't harm her England career either unless, of course, she doesn't get a regular starting place at Chelsea.

They could probably all gather in just a car to be honest.

At least we don't have to pretend to be interested any more, general sport mods?
