If we add another two + players the squad will be inflated. Would be nice if we could offload Akpan,Blackman & Taylor, and also one of Pog or Cox

It was very good to finally hear from the "main man" in the Thai takeover, he certainly opened the door to what they are intending to do with the club, including infrastructure, players etc. All seems very positive.

Seems like it, and they'll want results for their investment. Clarke will be under a lot of pressure from the first kick.

Al-Habsi, Donaldson, and Beric are going to be amongst the "three or four", we might not get them but it stands to reason they're the ones we're hoping for. Think a left sided player is likely to be the fourth, hopefully Figueroa or Whitbread but maybe a winger.

That would make us utterly stacked up top. We can't realistically hope to shift Pog so it stands to reason we'll be moving Cox on. It still doesn't make much sense to me, why renew Samuel's contract if we're going to sign three new strikers?

That's certainly the impression you get if you read between the lines and then make some shit up

But surely they are money grabbing asset stripping foreigners with no interest in the club. That is certainly what this board was saying less than 2 weeks ago.

Guess we'll know in two years. We were all feeling pretty good about AZ after that January transfer window as well. They do sound a lot more with it than AZ though. Plans to increase revenue from retail and abroad makes a lot of sense considering FFP, and they recognise we can't make money at this level, so PL football is a must, otherwise as the main shareholder said - they'll walk away if they don't get it.

I feel that the marketing and attention the Thais are courting says a lot for their intentions. These guys are connecting the club with some high profile names in Thailand, and seem genuinely proud to do so. I dont think theyd go through the rigmarole of advertising us as a big footballing entity and then f()cking us up infront of their home media. Anton kept schtum, took what he could and oxf*rd off.

Exciting times.

So, while I am certainly no fan of AZ it would be interesting to hear what you think he took? From the perspective I had on it all he took nothing out for himself, he messed the club up by committing it to spend it couldn't afford without his input (which never came). There doesn't appear to be any evidence that he personally profited from RFC, not even from the eventual sale to the Thai group.

+1

Whilst it's exciting that they've got this ambitious vision, do you really think that Clayton Donaldson and Zak Whitbread could get us out of this division? My suspicion would be no.

Fine. Good. Shame that it took 10 months or more of almost complete silence before we got any inkling whatsoever of what their plans might be.

They did say largely the same things in the previous two or three interviews they gave.

Indeed but Reading supporters are terribly insecure and an inherently miserable bunch of fcukers so obviously they need to be repeating that message every 48 hours.

I'm not quite as insecure as many on here but still I need to hear it twice a day.

Maybe they thought they'd get their plans sorted before allowing inward looking fans to start being negative about them.
