To all the Reading fans who lead the excellent singing in the East Stand, can I please make a humble plea.

I know that for many years, there has been a song linking Sir John with Cilla Black but I see from the BBC news today that she has died today at the age of 72.

Can we please show some respect and drop this song from our repertoire? - We should show respect to Cilla and obviously Sir John will be grieving too.

Out of respect for Cilla & Sir John I won't be singing that chant (not that I did sing it as I felt it was disrespectful) nor another SJM chant with similar lyrics that may cause others to sing the original version, however I don't need someone to tell me this. I think thats a fair request and personally i would happy to taake part in a minutes applause as well.
Not a fan of SJM but some things are more important than that. She attended many of our games and was the butt of some terrace banter so respect is due.
