We've agreed a season loan deal with Espanyol's Alex Fernandez with a view to a perm £1.5m deal.

Alejandro Fernández Iglesias (born 15 October 1992), commonly known as Álex, is a Spanish footballer who plays for RCD Espanyol as a central midfielder.

Don't believe a word of it myself but if true seems a bit ridiculous given we're already overloaded with midfielders (esp. one who don't score and don't play very much). And looking at Alex' first team career he'd fit right in on that score.

Perhaps we could persuade Espanyol to take Kanu and Akpan in the other direction as part of the deal.

So that would give us Norwood, Williams, Quinn, Tishbola and Alex. Assume Kuhl is on loan in Spain for the season and Akpan moves on that gives us 5 for 2 or 3 places which is just about Ok, although I'd probably want 1 more.
No idea I'd Alex is any good, there was one midfielder for Espanyol on Saturday who stood out but no Ida who he was. Number 10 ?

Apparently he also plays on the right which would logically provide balance with Quinn as a left sided option and Williams, Norwood and Tishbola more central. Assuming Mc Leary and Hurtado make it onto a team sheet the midfield options start to look ok in terms of numbers although must still be rated as 'unproven' as a unit.

Loan deal at Wycombe would work then.
Players must take it as a part of the job that moves happen at awkward times. Feds still has his house in Winnersh, Harper never moved from Shinfield etc etc.
