Why did Clarke play Tshibola? Why did he drop Ferdinand? For me the two biggest mistakes today. Hector will be good and he would be better as a defensive midfielder given he makes so many mistakes.At least there its less likely he will give a goal away. Oh and what an end! Tshibola was good. Ferdinand was dropped for Mcshane, who was also good.

I don't follow the logic that Hector would make a good defensive midfielder, because he makes a lot of mistakes.

Because Hectors better than Tshibola. No argument with Mcshane playing but Hectors has to get these mistakes out of his game and better to learn that in midfield than in defence

Tishbola is what we have been missing since Ledge left. Looks to have a real future. First time I have seen McShane and he looked awesome. Only players to play poorly were Hector & Obita, everyone else did well. Some real positives signs going forward. I thought Sa did really well, occupied there defenders and showed some real nice link up play, just ran out of steam.

I think it's more that the performance was very good and that sort of play will win plenty of games, which, in the first game back after a torrid season is a confidence filler, but then you knew that and were being deliberately obtuse.

No one is saying losing is a positive though.

Take it from me as I went today, we were ok first half but played well in the second and I promise you we deserved to win the game comfortably, Brum were fairly poor.

This is different to last season or the season before where we would get well beaten after playing like shit and people would come out with "lets take the positives" when there clearly wernt any to take.

But there were actually quite a few positives today, think I highlighted a few in my post in the BFTG thread.

Seems a very level headed young man. His progression has come a little out of left field as a year ago I think most of us were expecting Kuhl to be the one to break through, but his time at Hartlepool is a perfect example of how a loan move can really bring a player on. Has always had talent, but now he has the physicality and temperament to go with it.

Early doors obviously, but the signs from pre-season and Brum are very promising, and could well turn into the midfielder we've often lacked.

As well as the oft-mentioned Plymouth 2-1, I was also at Molineux for the first game of the 1994-95 season.
We managed to lose 1-0 but due to the performance we just knew we were going to have a good season and that Division 2 was nothing to be scared of.
