Colchester (A) Prediction thread

by Royal Ginger » 10 Aug 2015 14:10

Time for our regular choke against a league 1 side or cruise past a team that barely survived last season? Who's going to play and what's the score going to be? Predictions please?

Team:

----------------------Al Habsi--------------------------
Gunter--Ferdinand--McShane (c)-----Taylor
------------Tshibola-----Norwood-----------------
Taylor------------Williams------------------Quinn
--------------------Blackman--------------------------

Subs: Bond, Obita, Hector, Keown, Kuhl, Sa, Cox

2-0 to Reading Blackman with both.

Reading to go behind early doors but be strong enough on the night and win 3-1

Nick Blackman to score the 3rd and final goal and then give it the large one to away fans as per usual

Just change Taylor and HRK, with HRK the forward and Blackman continuing in support.
Taylor on the bench rather than Hector.

......................Al-Habsi
Keown, Ferdinand, McShane, Taylor
Blackman, Norwood, Tshibola, Obita
...................Samuel, Cox

Bond, Hector, Gunter, Williams, Quinn, HRK, Sa

This will almost certainly be well wide of the mark.

2-1 to Reading in an unconvincing and slightly lucky display. Cue more 'woe is us' comments.

When was the last time we had a convincing penalty taker?

Harte? Then Long, Kitson and maybe Shorey... Oh for someone with the skills of them or Morley and Caskey in the side.

I'm sure I read somewhere that Ian Harte's worst penalty record was with Reading. I think I remember him missing two or three. Still better than Sa's current record mind you!

When was it that we missed three penalties in one game (might have been two misses, one scored)? Harte missed one of those I seem to remember.

Want to say Barnsley (H) 2011/12

As far as predictions for this go;

0-1 Samuel

Mediocre performance, fortunate result. Al-Habsi the busier of the two keepers.
