Club statement -

http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article ... 15700.aspx

Our Academy Manager Eamonn Dolan is currently undergoing a course of chemotherapy after having a tumour removed from his bladder. Everyone at the club and our supporters will be fully focused on giving him our total support to get him recovered as quickly as possible. He is a very important member of our club and has done an outstanding job over the last ten years.

Eamonn would like to thank everyone at Reading Football Club for the superb support he has already received and also for the medical care he has been given and looks forward to making a full recovery as soon as possible.

Truly horrible news. Great guy and a talented coach.

Really hope he's back on the training ground soon.

It's sad news, but hopefully they have caught it early and his prognosis is good.

All the best, Eamonn.

There is talk of a minutes applause on the 21st minute in our up coming games.

Don't get me wrong, he deserves a tribute but it seems that every club these days has a minutes applause for something throughout the match and it's just a bit unoriginal.

He deserves something for all his work and I'm gutted about this news today.

What would be the best way to show our support?

I'd be fine with the applause.

Nothing. public mourning is the most cringe worthy thing going at the moment. Yes he has cancer, it's a shame and i to hope he makes a full and quick recovery. But so do thousands / hundreds of thousands of other people. Are we all to turn up at radiotherapy clinics and start clapping them.

Possibly one of the most important people at RFC. Heartfelt good wishes to Eamonn for a speedy recovery and fingers crossed he'll be clear from now on. What with Testicular Cancer he had in 1993, Eamonn's had more than his fair share of health bad fortune.
