Lacoste There is talk of a minutes applause on the 21st minute in our up coming games.

Don't get me wrong, he deserves a tribute but it seems that every club these days has a minutes applause for something throughout the match and it's just a bit unoriginal.

He deserves something for all his work and I'm gutted about this news today.

What would be the best way to show our support?

Nothing. public mourning is the most cringe worthy thing going at the moment. Yes he has cancer, it's a shame and i to hope he makes a full and quick recovery. But so do thousands / hundreds of thousands of other people. Are we all to turn up at radiotherapy clinics and start clapping them.

No, but I'm pretty sure people in that situation would be thankful that people with similar problems are being given support and recognition. And while it may be cringeworthy for you I'm sure it would make Eamonn feel a hell of a lot better.

Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Awful news. Hope he makes a full recovery. An absolutely vital part of our club and responsible for quite a few first teamers over the past few years! Get well soon!!

Agree totally with this. Minute applause not appropriate when game is going on.

Be novel, think of a chant, song, chant before, during the game. Job done.

+1
Eamonn Dolan comes across as quite a private person who doesn't need the sympathy of strangers who want to feel good about theirselves by organizing a public round of applause just so they can say look at us, we're better people than you lot not clapping over there, even though like you we don't even know this person, probably can't spell his first name and wouldn't recognise if we saw him in Waitrose wearing a Reading FC jacket with ED on the front
However, he is a nice chap so no doubt if it does happen he will say all the right things about how much he appreciates it etc etc.

If you want to offer support, send a personal get well soon card c/o Reading FC, Madejski Stadium.

Eamonn has worked tirelessly supporting the development of youngsters coming through the Academy, both all those who progressed to professional status and even premiership, and those who did not make it. For him it has been as important to help those that needed to find an alternative path as those who obviously were going to succeed. Now is the time for all involved to give him back the tremendous support he has given to so many.
