RoyallyFcuked Still needed -

1 Winger (Looks like it will be Hurtado?)
1 Striker
1 Creative Central Attacking Midfielder (someone in the Sigurdsson mold) (could Fernandez be this player?)

Yep - i'd agree

Why don't we just buy Sigurdsson, am I right?

Reading between the lines, seems like Hurtado may be the final signing. If so, we really do not have enough fire power.

Chief Executive Nigel Howe added: “With this summer’s transfer policy, the shareholders and the board have recognised that Steve needed to be allowed space to rebuild his squad. Last season’s points tally was not on a par with where we need to be, and with Paolo’s arrival we have added another piece to the jigsaw. The rebuilding process is always step by step, but we believe the squad is in a stronger position now and I’d like to wish Paolo the best of luck here at Reading.”

If he'd said final piece then maybe, but there is nothing there that indicates the squad is complete. We know we have been talking to other players, so presumably we weren't thinking one winger would do for the summer.

You know, I felt something has been missing, something didn't feel right about the Brum game.

Where's the damn rougemeter? This club is really going to pot.

How many players have we signed since Clarke said he still looking to bring in "three or four more"?

Just Hurtado isnt it? I'd be surprised if that was us done already. I think there will be one or two more so there is still hope of new striker yet...

While we talk money, What happened to all the money THE ROYALS got from 2 promotions,? Look at the club investments from Bournemouth, and Watford since their promotion, MILLIONS spent on new players, Who did we buy ? Something wrong with the policy me thinks,

You're right, my mistake. I did think I was missing someone.

Still, I think one or two more will come in before the end of the window.

The money went on wages basically.

Let's wait and see how Watford and Bournemouth do over this and the next few seasons before claiming their investments are better than ours were. Most importantly you have to accept that they've got owners willing to throw money at it and much greater income thanks to the new TV deal. We he'd neither.

So hurtado, Taylor, maybe chalobah and the Spanish guy. That's your four.

We desperately need another forward. Can't see him signing that lot and a forward.

Funny how we've gone from wanting two more forwards to now signing none. Perhaps the Thais have underestimated the cost as we seem to be looking for only loans now where as before we were looking to part with decent money for strikers.

If we are low on cash, would rather loan one cm and one striker than two cm.

Then again, who knows what's planned. Clark did say 4 more before hurtado and we seem to have that covered.

He might have meant 3-4 perm signings and the loans are a bonus.

Clarke also said that there would be stuff happening under the radar and a number of our deals have been exactly that. It's impossible to know what might happen and how many of the recent deals were long term targets as opposed to taking advantage of opportunities that arose.
Does make some of the relentlessly negative posting back in May and June look a bit silly. 9 signings !!!!

weve not signed fernandez, or chalobah

so we have two of the three.

good strikers are harder to find than other positions

I can't imagine we'll sign two midfielders. That would give us seven Championship quality midfielders. Even if the Aarons go out on loan, we'd have more than we can hope to use.

I think Samuel's injury makes a striker a real priority. Unless Liburd is a revelation, we're down to just Sa and Cox until Pog is fit - and Clarke obviously doesn't rate Cox. Cardwell and Novakovich aren't ready yet.

I don't think we were ever likely to sign both, it was one or the other IMO.

We didn't leak those offers, the Beric one came from Rapid's Sporting Director and the other, I suspect, from Donaldson's agent. And I think Clarke knew Taylor and Akpan were off, before he went after Fernández and Chalobah, so he's just replacing what he's lost. And they are only loan deals.

I have a hunch we'll see a striker come in at the very end of the window, perhaps sooner if we manage to sell Cox and/or HRK.

Sa, McShane, Quinn, Bond, Al Habsi, Semedo, Liburd (sp?), Taylor, Hurtado - that's nine.
