Why do we need someone talking so loudly at half time you cannot speak to those around you? Why do I need to be told the 2nd half will soon be underway when the players are coming back out? Why do I need to be told what the full time score is just after the full time whistle goes?

Just smacks of modern day americanism where organisers feel compelled to fill every single moment with something for fear that people wont be entertained, completely forgetting that people can entertain themselves and people dont always want entertainment rammed in their face.

So is anyone going to do anything about the announcer, speak to the club etc or are we going to just put up with it until it becomes normal and there is no going back?

I think the PA is a bit over the top but I'd rather that then some Marvin character who announces in a intoned funereally voice:
"Funny how just when you think life can't possibly get any worse it suddenly does."
(Douglas Adams The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy)
But given the current HobNob tone Marvin would fit in.

Vision Paragraph 1 - Fantasy again.

Paragraph 2 - I didn't say he went too far. He did.

Paragraph 3 - LOL.

So how much would you care to bet on Paragraph 1 being fantasy? I could make a lot of easy money here! Fact - I have been involved in a professional capacity in negotiating many such departures, so know exactly how those sort of discussions go and the nature of the agreements that are reached. I also know the subsequent public statements to be rather economical with the truth and/or what they say. My belief is my belief. It might be wrong/mistaken (I don't think it is) but that doesn't make it fantasy.

Paragraph 2 - I know he said he went too far but don't believe he was being particularly sincere when he did so. I still believe the words were likely scripted for him as part of whatever discussions/agreement the club and he had.

Paragraph 3 - We differ in our view of motives. However, I am pleased that to date she seems (at least to me) to be far more of a modest person and less keen to be the centre of attention than her predecessor.

Having been involved in JR leaving RFC I can state that he had no choice but to leave.

SHAMELESS PLUG. Have written a piece about him for The Tilehurst End. Praying that the club recognises the breadth of feedback that people have given, and will do something - anything - about it.

And if we invited a load of members of the Royal Navy, they could announce that the grand erection was filling up with seamen.

WAZZOCK I can guarantee that if the announcer reads this, he will be delighted. This is exactly the reaction he would have been after, and you saps have fallen for it hook line and sinker

Not sure losing his job was really the reaction he was looking for.
